Waffles On Maple

We loved their gluten free king cake soooo much! It was better than most with gluten. The crepes were perfect. We had a sweet and a savory one, and both left nothing to be desired. I will absolutely be a regular.

They are very passionate about GF and have a separate chalkboard with their GF offerings; when we were there, they were in the planning stages of making gf King cakes for next year. My celiac wife loved her GF beignets and cheddar biscuit, and tried my waffle, all with no reaction (except joy). As a non-gf-sensitive person, I can attest the GF beignets were awesome and tasted very similar to Cafe du Monde's non-gf. Incidentally, coffee was also excellent! Highly recommend.

Stopped in twice while in town, both times I never had a reaction. They said they get a lot of guests with celiac and I felt safe eating here with the precautions they take. First day, I ordered the gluten free beignets and the hollandaise waffle. Both were pretty good. Today, I ordered the egg and sausage biscuit sandwich and it was excellent! Lots of flavor in the biscuit and sausage. This place is a little gem!

They have an incredible selection of gf items. The biscuits are my favorite — they are soft, crumbly and full of flavor. The owner’s daughter has celiac, so they are very aware and knowledgeable. So glad t find this gem in a city that typically ignores allergies.

INCREDIBLE! The only place we found with GF beignets which were great but also got the waffle sampler and a sausage egg and cheese cheddar biscuit. All were amazing!

I love this place more than words can say. Soft chewy GF waffles in the most amazing flavors - strawberry shortcake being my favorite. I’ve eaten here too many times to count and have never gotten sick. They also have GF king cakes during Mardi Gras season!!

Everything was very good! They have a great selection of gf meals. I had waffles and did not experience any reaction at all. Excellent service and excellent food-- I will be returning.

Something has changed at Waffles on Maple. When I tried to order today, I requested that they change their gloves, and was told literally “we’re not doing that. If your allergy is that severe, you shouldn’t be eating out at all.” I was also told that while a plain waffle is safe, all of the toppings are cross-contaminated.

Excellent experience. The cashier alerted the kitchen staff about our gluten free order and let us know they use a separate area to make the gf waffles. Food was delish! No issues for my celiac daughter. This was our first stop in the NOLA area after leaving the airport.

I went to the Metarie location. The young lady who took my order acted like I was bothering her. I thought I had heard that they offer GF crepes. I asked her, and, in a rude tone, she told me "it'll be marked on the menu if it's gluten free". I got the waffle sampler. My waffle was undercooked and the toppings were underwhelming. It was ok, not amazing, though. I'm visiting from North Dakota and this place was recommended by the Gluten Free New Orleans Facebook group. #GFFFM #GFTCM
