I am a sensitive celiac. I've eaten here three times. One time I even had dessert. I got sweet oven baked fries. I had no issues at all. The server explained the fryer was shared but made sure everything was kept separate.

Waitress seemed to know about gluten allergies and guided me away from items marked gluten free but were cross contaminated by the fryer. Told me the loaded potato soup was totally safe so I got a bowl and have been extremely sick since. Wish I had read the more recent reviews as we hadn’t been in several years so the quality control is clearly not the same priority it once was.

They don’t have a gluten free menu. Everything is cross contaminated. They really wanted to help me by finding something they could fix me but honestly it was so difficult.
Everything labeled on the menu as gf is not. I know chicken wings are gluten free, if they are prepared right. But they are not. I know pizza crust can be labeled gluten free, but not if it’s cooked on a pan with a flour crust pizza.
The menu is definitely concerning and there is no warning for allergens or possible contamination.
Ps- don’t get the nachos as an appetizer. Other options may be more appealing. Not the nachos.

The restaurant is very nice. We ate outside. Waitress was great. I ordered nachos and my son ordered shrimp and grits. Both labeled on menu as gluten-free. I am still hurting so bad this morning. Something there wasn’t gluten free at all.

The Wakefield Tavern has many GF options listed in the menu. They are extremely accommodating when you make a special request as well. Let the server know the allergy and they will cook your separate from other food.
