My favorite GF bakery in MA. Very knowledgeable about other allergens as well
Bookmarked this place to try when I was in town visiting family, what a treat. Tried the quiche and a muffin, both delicious. I only had time for breakfast so I didn't get a chance to try the cakes and other sweet treats, but everything looked great. Coffee was surprisingly good, too :)
Dedicated GF! I stopped in to grab something quick and the selection was small (a few muffins, cupcakes, and bagels). I did get a three pack of chocolate chip bagels ($15+). They were very good - not quite a bagel texture, they had more of a muffin texture but they were excellent.
Fully gluten free and grain free facility!! I loved everything I got. I highly recommend the focaccia bread it was so amazing and some of the best gf focaccia I’ve ever had. I also loved their cheesecake and tiramisu cup. Lastly, the carrot cake muffins were such an amazing find. They have a decent amount of protein and fiber too which is always a plus. They were super friendly and had so many options!!
My review is purely preference, I unfortunately did not care for any of the items we got. We got cookies, cupcakes and donuts. They all tasted exactly the same, like coconut. It seems that they are using coconut flour in numerous products which I did not realize until after leaving. The coconut flour taste is just not for me. Now that being said, my toddler LOVED the cookies. The store was very clean and organized, the staff member was also very kind and helpful. I’d go back to try their bagels though!
Took our very sensitive child there and he liked it with no reactions. They are all% GF. It was awesome to let our child be able to pick out whatever he wanted there!! He got to pick out a donut and enjoyed their blueberry muffins as well. I also thought the muffin and donut was really yummy. Did not personally like their plain bagel but would go back again for a lot of other food stuff.
I am beyond ecstatic! The chocolate cream pie is the better than I remember from past gluten and dairy recipes. So many gf/df items to choose from. The chocolate covered donut and chocolate cream pie were recommended and I can see why! I can’t wait to return for more.
This was such a surprise find today. There were wonderful options from quiche, soup, focaccia, cupcakes, cheesecake and other amazing gluten free selections. Since sometimes gluten free can be so limiting we would highly recommend checking out their seasonal specials as well.
Thank you!
I’ve been going to White Lion for years since they were on the cape. I’m so happy they have a Newton location now! Everything is amazing, but some people don’t like their products because they don’t use refined sugar, butter, or the filler grain flours like rice or corn - they use honey, coconut flour, almond flour, etc which I love because you don’t really feel guilty eating the treats. I also love that they started carrying some lunch options like salads, pot pies, lasagna, etc!
Thanks Lori!
