The food bar is no longer safe from risk of cross-contamination. The ingredient lists are not always correct. I don’t shop here anymore because the prices for gluten-free staples are so high. I do better on Vitacost.com for staples. I’m fortunate to have a Natural Grocers nearby for fresh food options in the winter when the farmers markets are closed.
I love their gluten free pizzas but after calling them on the phone and verifying that the pizza could be cooked for me at the pizza counter the cook said it could not be done. I was out of town and no where near an oven I could use and starving. my whole family was very upset. no pizza tonight! we settled on chipotle 1.1 miles away.
they have a lot of basic staples that are gluten free. Most recipes can substitute wheat flour with a rice flour mix.
Ok selection of grocery items but no GF baked goods & was told prepared food is likely cross contaminated.
Went there to pick up something ready made but was surprised by their quality and availability of buffet hot lunches to go I understand buffet can be a questionable thing for those with severe reactions BUT I had a look and nothing with gluten was nearby those GF items. I love whole foods for the fact that they have every single ingredient listed on the label so you know what you're getting. Pretty pricey though ($18 for the smallest box). But tasted good.
