2024 review: very disappointing!! They can no longer do pancakes gf. They have a shared griddle. They are changing their menu to “gluten friendly”. They can’t to gf toast safely. They said they had a gf toaster and then someone mistakenly put gluten toast in it. They were unwilling to make pancakes in a frying pan because it would compromise the quality of the pancake! They offered that they could do Omelettes safer.
Old review from about 2017 era: Very awesome restaurant that took all our allergens seriously. Had delicious GF pancakes. Many eggs, omlettes that were GF too. Generous portions!
Everyone who has commented about them being unwilling to make any accommodations for celiac is correct. While they offer GF options, they are unwilling to even attempt to mitigate for cross contact. The manager said they are high volume and cannot make any concessions. If you have celiac- do not eat here.
This place was very frustrating because they have gluten free pancakes but told me they cannot wipe down the surface for me, or just use a new pan. I am disappointed by their lack of adaptability. I had to watch my friends eat amazing pancakes while I ate yogurt and a side of bacon. Super disappointing
The food was delicious and there are many menu items marked as GF on the regular menu. I ended up getting the Prosciutto and Mushroom omelet with fruit and toast. The waiter did warn me that the toast would be in an area that could allow for CC. I opted to get it not toasted and had no issues. Loved this place!
Server did tell us they can't guarantee that there will be no cross contamination. I find many places say this just to cover themselves. I understand that, but I did feel that precautions were taken. Neither of my children got sick and one is super sensitive. They both had pancakes. The portions were huge, even when we got the silver dollar version for my little one. The items were marked as gluten free when they came out of the kitchen. I always like this. It was very crowded, but we were seated quickly.
I went here thinking I had some good GF options. But after talking with the waitress it was clear the only options I could eat were the skillet omelettes. Beware the gluten free waffles and pancakes are all made on shared kitchen space so there is potential cross contamination. For that reason I played it safe with a skillet omelette. It was good, but I was disappointed I couldn’t safely try the other GF items.
Went here with my date and friend and amazing honey berry waffles
I was feeling a little paranoid after having accidentally glutened my visiting brother-in-law the previous evening, but fortunately for my reputation as hostess, Wildberry delivered.
Our waitress seemed pretty knowledgeable and also had let us know that they do have a toaster that they use exclusively for gluten-free breadstuffs, but he ultimately chickened out and didn't push his luck with the GF toast he had gotten with his super-meaty skillet. An absurdly large-portioned and enjoyable brunch was had by everyone involved.
I ordered the GF pancakes - they must have mixed up my order or something because I had a stomach ache for almost a week after eating my meal. I know- not wise to order GF in a pancake house but the reviews seemed promising. I guess I was just unlucky. On the bright side it tasted REALLY good.
The pancakes were delicious. Staff seemed very knowledgeable.
Staff is super friendly and gluten free pancakes are awesome!
Just ate at restaurant and they were clear before we ordered that they share the same equipment for waffles and pancakes between gluten free and gluten batters. There is guaranteed cross contamination. They are honest about this so it should be changed on this website to reflect the clear cross contamination.
We were told they were able to do gluten free pancakes and waffles but then when we were sat they said they were unable to clean the grill and then had no idea if the syrup was gluten free. The server wouldn't even check for us. This is definitely NOT celiac friendly and their lack concern for allergies makes me not recommend at all.
I had the cinnamon roll pancakes and some hash browns. I told the waitress I had an “allergy” and she gave me that speech every restaurant gives to avoid being sued (since we have gluten items we can’t guarantee blah blah blah) after reading the reviews on here I was pretty confident though and it all worked out well. I haven’t gotten sick and will definitely go back there soon.
Definitely worth the wait! There were so many gluten free choices!! The staff seemed knowledgeable and were very accommodating! The wait was 1.5 hours, but we were able to walk around millennium park while we waited. Once we sat down, the food was AMAZING!!! All in all, I highly recommend this place!
