They used a clean ice cream scoop and got a new tub of ice cream.
My son said the ice cream was really good.
We stopped here for ice cream. They have a menu with all food and ice cream options highlighted as GF. When my son said he had a allergy they got a new scoop and took his from a new tub. They quite a few ice cream and sundae options available. He was excited that it wasn’t just vanilla!
— Gluten-free items are marked on the main menu
My whole life I passed up this quintessential Door County classic thinking it couldn't possibly be safe for me with gluten and nut allergies. On this last visit we stopped in just to see if they could accommodate us and they could! They have a menu marked with the items that are GF. They have a shared fryer (which was noted on the menu) so we didn't get anything fried but we had a yummy side salad and the BBQ pulled pork without a bun it was delicious. Highlight was the ice cream though! They have a book with all the ingredients in all their ice cream flavors and have an allergy-protocol where they go in back and use a fresh scooper in a fresh container to avoid cross-contamination. SOOOOO yummy! And a picturesque setting right across the street from the beautiful bay in Ephraim.
