First visit to the Woodside Cafe in Birkenhead. Great service almost everything is gluten free. I had the Korean fried chicken which was really good n got a slice of snickers slice to takeaway. One happy coeliac! 😊

I went here during lockdown so it was contactless cabinet food only. Both of the cabinets were completely Gluten Free and there were over 30 things to choose from. No worries about cross-contamination from the cabinet. I had a chocolate cupcake which was fine (a bit dry) but I will definitely be coming back to try more. I know they’ve been involved in Coeliac New Zealand’s dining out program in the past so I’m confident they are taking all appropriate precautions. I don’t think their full cooked menu is dedicated GF, but everything can be made GF.

Updated to add: went back to try some more cabinet food and had a mixed-bag experience. Had an amazing lemon loaf, beautifully light and fluffy (will get this again), and an awful blueberry-lemon curd muffin. Maybe it was a bad/undercooked batch but the muffin was like dense, stodgy dough inside - couldn’t finish it. So it seems a bit hit-and-miss on the cabinet food.

The café is really lovely and so was the staff. The Ginger Slice and coffee I had tasted very nice and the food in general looked great. BUT beware that the café is not an entirely gf facility. They also put up a sign that they can't guarantee for any cross contamination.

Completely celiac friendly. The owner is celiac and has done a great job of ensuring food is safe. Not a lot of options on the menu but I thought the 2 open faced sandwiches I had were great and I did not get sick.
