Had dinner here on both nights we were in Houston due to quality of food, service and variety of gluten free on the menu. The waiters were very good at explaining the menu and the fact that "99%" of it was gluten free was great in ensuring my confidence. A gluten free oasis in a Houston desert!
Loved the food. Waiter was knowledgeable and knew how to make modifications. Many GF options. Nice place.
Their deserts are NOT gf along with the breadcrumbs they put on one of their “pizzas” (the breadcrumbs go on after the pizza is made I believe). All of their tortillas are corn. They are very knowledgeable about what is gf and what isn’t, along with any precautions they need to take. I got one of the Mexican pizzas and the chicken enchiladas and didn’t get sick. I loved the enchiladas!
I have had a few great experiences at Xochi and never been sick. Make sure the waiter's are aware of your allergy and they will notify the chef, and always double check ingredients. Almost the entire menu is gluten free (they don't use wheat flour tortillas). I had the chicken tlayuda which was excellent!
Absolutely wonderful. The food is exceptional, and about 99% of the menu is gluten free. Server was very attentive, reviewed the menu carefully with me to make sure that what I ordered was gluten free, and was very aware of cross-contamination. Don't miss this restaurant if you are in Houston.
Love, love, love this restaurant! The food is delicious and SAFE. Almost the entire menu is gluten free. I'm a very sensitive celiac, and never had a reaction after eating here. The servers and kitchen are knowledgeable and aware of cross contamination. They even have a dessert option (only one thing, but is amazing).
This restaurant is apparently already mostly gluten free. My server said it’s like 99%. Not sure how accurate that is... but they had a beautiful menu of many options. I’m also dairy free, which makes eating out no fun. They were kind and understanding and he said they take food restrictions/allergies very seriously.
Most of the menu items are naturally gluten-free, including the corn tortillas made in house (they do not make any wheat flour tortillas). They do not have a gluten-free menu so you will have to ask which items are safe. The food was delicious. Would definitely go back!
