Long story short: I was initially served a gluten containing meal (luckily I caught it before eating), the food quality wasn’t good, and I wouldn’t come back.
I was provided with a “gluten sensitive” menu on request, and there were a few (limited) options; not much for this GF and vegetarian girl.
I decided to go with the BBQ chicken salad without the chicken, and informed our server that I had an allergy before ordering. She doesn’t seem to have written it down though, because when the salad arrived it was piled with what looked like fried onion rings, which were not listed on the gluten sensitive menu version of the salad. I asked the delivering waiter if my salad was GF, and he immediately said the onion rings were not. I explained again that I have an allergy, and asked him to make sure the kitchen made a new salad (not just removing the onions, as I would get sick). Thank goodness for that waiter, he took extra care to make sure I got a fully new salad made.
In the end I did not get sick, but did spend the rest of the afternoon very anxiously looking for symptoms of cross contact.
They had a “gluten sensitive” menu and didn’t promise cross-contamination but the waiter said they do work to ensure your meal is as safe as possible if you’re celiac. He pointed me to the menu items that would be the least likely to have cross-contamination nearby in the kitchen. I had the tuna steak and it was really good! Did not get sick.
