I'm Celiac (can't have gluten) and this is a place that theoretically caters to gluten free diners (the front window has "gluten free" written out in large letters). I've been here twice and have been disappointed each time.

The menu doesn't indicate what's gluten free (gf). On the two occasions I've been here the servers have given me conflicting information on what's gluten-free on their menu, which doesn't inspire confidence, and on at least one occasion has made me sick.

The first time I went the waiter said almost anything could be made gluten-free-- I'm pretty sure I was served something with gluten (that I was told was gluten-free, fried in a dedicated fryer) and suffered the gut busting consequence as a result. At the time, I didn't know if my gastro-intestinal distress was related to Yen Ha, after my second visit, I'm pretty sure it was.

The second time the waiter told me the only gluten free items on the menu were the stir-fry rice dishes (which didn't make sense either--it seemed like the rice stick noodle bowls, salad rolls, rice soups would be gf--especially if you're advertising yourself as a gf restaurant). We left without ordering because given the two contrasting experiences and the limited gf fare (this time), I didn't trust that I would get a gf meal.

If you're Celiac or gluten-intolerant, I'd avoid this place.

I was told that seitan was a very fancy tofu. He seemed very sure of himself and repeatedly told me it was not gluten. I went against my gut (quite literally) and tried it. I was sick for three days. DO NOT trust this place.

Seemed safe from the reviews, but reaction the next day says otherwise. Owner is a total character if you’re not super sensitive. Pho might be safe, didn’t have that.

I didn't realize the whole menu was GF until I was about to order. I got a spicy curry beef, my partner got pho, and we both felt fine afterwards. Cant wait to go back now that know I can order anything. They also have cider on tap!

Very knowledgeable staff on gluten. Gluten-free soy sauce. Salt and pepper calamari was the best! I highly recommend this place.

I think Yen Ha is safe, but I wouldn't order anything but the Pho if you have celiac. The bar is really awesome too. It's on my list of restaurants I can convince my non gf friends to meet me at.

Love this place! Very accommodating for gluten free. They even make their own spring rolls with rice paper (not sure about dedicated fryer though). Great selection and delicious food!

Amazing food! We both had the pho and spring rolls. Not only was every gluten free bite delicious but the server was super helpful and extremely nice. I was told their calamari is also gluten free (that'll be on my next order). And if you are a fan of tea make sure you have a glass, it was so tasty and refreshing.

Yen Ha has recently had some GF consulting and changed a few things to make most of the menu GF. They switched their soy sauce and oyster sauce to brands not containing gluten. We usually enjoy a hot bowl of Pho #16 or Beef curry #75 YUM!!
