I visited the Ventura location. We're loyal customers, but I just discovered I have Hashimoto's, so GF is new to me. I asked if they had a gluten sensitive menu, and was pleasantly surprised that they have one. The menu has quite a few choices but clearly states they are not a GF kitchen and cannot guarantee no cross contamination. Unfortunately, the server was not knowledgeable at all about it. I ordered the Enchiladas de Tomatillos from the GF menu, and was served the regular Enchiladas Vera Cruz instead, which comes with rice and refried beans that are not GF. I sent it back and received the correct order eventually. The server was apologetic and polite; it was an honest mistake. I emailed the manager about my concern over the lack of knowledge about the GF menu. He thanked me for letting him know, apologized, and said he would ensure his staff was educated about the GF menu. Fyi, the chips are fried in community oil. I think this bummed me out the most! I love their chips and salsa. 😢
