They are not gluten free. They suggested eggs Benedict without the English muffin, salad without the croutons, sandwich without the bread.... We left without eating.

I wish I could give Zazu five stars. I've eaten there many times, and usually, I have a great dining experience. The food is excellent. However, because they don't label the menu for gluten free, you are dependent on the wait staff's knowledge and conscientiousness. One evening, a while back, I was deciding between the risotto and the chicken dish. I chose the chicken dish that night. I came back the following night to order the risotto dish, having been told by my waitress the previous night that the risotto was gluten free. Of course, the second night I informed my server of my need to be gluten free when I ordered the risotto, and asked (again) if it was a gluten free dish. She didn't know and went to the kitchen to check. A few minutes later, she came back and said, "yes, the risotto is gluten free, but they do use the pasta water to make it." I told her that actually, that means that the risotto isn't gluten free. After that incident, I didn't go back for a long time. Lately, I've returned and haven't had any more trouble feeling comfortable with my gluten free orders (although I never order the risotto). I've spoken with the chef who comes across as very gluten free friendly. And I've never gotten sick after eating there (I never ate the risotto). The food is so good, I hate to say it's risky for celiacs... but it could be. I recommend communicating in detail with your wait staff. Update: I just left Zazu after I was informed by the wait staff that two appetizers I was previously told by wait staff were gluten free are actually not gluten free due to fryer contamination. I didn't get noticeably sick when I ate them, but .... Too often, I've been given conflicting information about gluten free/not gluten free menu items here. It makes me feel unsafe. I had to reduce my rating.

Had duck with potatoes and Syrah grapes, so good:) They don't have a gf menu but the staff is well trained. They had to adapt the entree slightly for me but assured me that the chef would come up with something to make sure I had an excellent meal. I felt very comfortable eating here and had a great experience.

4/18/2015 Dinner here was great. Server was knowledgeable about gluten and other food sensitivities and cross-contamination. Bacon-wrapped fig, Halibut served on mushrooms & asparagus and cocktail were all great.
