This is a frequent spot for us and we've never gotten sick. There are lots of gluten free options! You do need to clarify your allergy and double check once the food arrives. We've had the wrong food brought out a headful of times over the years and they're very quick to fix any mistakes. Most of the time everything comes out great.

Fantastic experience! GF is clearly labeled on the menu and there are lots of options. The fryer is shared so you can’t eat any fried options, but they have gf totopos (baked chips) and corn tortillas you can substitute. Our server was super helpful.

I had a great experience here. Gluten free items are marked on the menu. I ordered birria tacos because I’ve heard great things about them. They were very good and came with a side of rice and beans.

The taste is fantastic, but I got glutened unfortunately, pretty severely for CC. Next time I will mention celiac.
Update: 4 out of 5 times safe which I consider very good. Will try different menu options in the future

The menu notes gluten free options or ways to make something gluten free and then chef and cook team were able to identify “sneaky gluten” in their sauces to help advise me what sauces to stay away from and offered alternatives.

GF chips they are fried in the morning with new oil. Lots of different GF food. Just verbally confirm that you need gf for Celiac or an Allergy and they do a good job. The servers have a good understanding of the menu.

They have many items that are gluten free. If you want gf chips (to avoid cross contamination) you can request them. I ordered soup that came with totopos and I asked if they could serve it without them and they ha no problem with that. Our waitress had celiac and said she ate there all the time and has never had a reaction.

First Mexican restaurant I've been able to eat at without getting ill immediately. They have gluten-free chips that are made everyday in fresh oil before anything else has touched it. Our server understood gluten-free requirements without explanation. We ordered chips with salsa, guacamole, queso, and I had a "holiday special" margarita and the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas. We never received the salsa and later realized we were also charged for it, oh well. The guacamole and queso was really good. The chicken fajitas were very flavorful up until I bit into rib bones left in the meat, after that I couldn't eat anymore. The cranberry rosemary margarita was good tasting, however the drink had so much cranberry pulp in it, it was almost impossible to drink it. Its like a straining step was missed. So overall the meal experience was alright, not great. I would go back because I love Mexican food, but if a better option presented itself, I wouldn't go back.
Edit/Update- This Pure is ABSOLUTELY NOT SAFE. My son and I both have Celiac and have been glutened repeatedly at this restaurant. Idk if the cross contamination in this restaurant is just really high or they don't give actual gluten-free items when you request them. But we will never be eating there again because even after questioning them up and down and ordering only "gluten-free" items, we are sick everytime. Over like 3/4 times we ate there, the servers all tell you different things about what's gluten-free and whats not and how its prepared. The last time we ate there, I ordered queso, guacamole, salsa, gluten-free chips, and the tostada de tinga and my son also ate all the appetizers and them special ordered the kids menu beef and cheese tacos on corn tortillas. That's it. The server swore up and down the tostadas were gluten-free, and the corn chips were made in the morning before anything else is added to the oil for the day. Idk if they reuse the oil or what. But unless you want severe gastric pain and upset with your Mexican, then don't eat here. Sucks I'll never be able to eat at Mexican restaurants again, it seems.
Update- From Pure themselves: nothing is celiac safe besides a salad without meat. The grills all cook flour tortillas on them and the fryers all get flour items daily. So this place is still 100% NOT SAFE FOR CELIACS. The CC'd amount here is astronomical, you might as well eat the gluten items.

Went there tonight for dinner. Their dedicated fryer was broken, so they basically had no gluten free options that wouldn’t have cross contamination.
They were super apologetic, and I was glad they shared the info with us upfront.
The menu looked fantastic, so we were a bit disappointed. Make sure you ask about the fryer right away.

Great gluten free tacos!!! Started with gluten free chips & salsa and then ordered lamb tacos. Popular brunch, lunch, and dinner location in downtown Duluth. Items are marked on the menu and staff is knowledgeable about cross-contamination. 10/10 recommend!!

I had the steak tacos because they were labeled as GF and I have celiac. I did tell them that it was an allergy, but it definitely was not Gf (probably cross contamination) because I had a reaction): while it tasted really good, would not eat again because it is NOT celiac safe

Whole table ordered gf options even though I’m the only with celiac. The waitress was new and took our order. Another waitress came out and confirmed everything for us, said that the tostadas are fried in a shared fryer, but everything else is safe for celiac.
Felt safe with the confirmation on my tacos. Gf nachos were fried fresh separately. Really enjoyed the birria tacos and sopa.

Pure Taqueria is one of my favorite dinner staples. They have a great menu with several gluten free options. They have just recently dedicated a fryer to the chips and they taste fantastic, so you no longer have to pay an extra fee for the GF chips. You can also eat the guacamole and salsa safely. I regularly get their chicken/steak fajitas, but they also have a few rice based dishes that are also gluten free. I sometimes get their cazuela bowl and you can also eat their tacos. All around great establishment with a solid selection of GF items.

I have been here a few times and I will not return after my last visit. I found noodles within my gluten free bowl and I specifically asked the kitchen to be careful about cross contamination. If a mistake like this can happen they are not taking gluten free seriously for people with celiac disease. It is not worth the risk eating here.

Our server was training and the person training them was no where to be found. My food was nasty at best. I had fish tacos. It was a whole tilapia filet thrown into a corn tortilla. The whole thing was soggy. I went next door and got a burger after my table finished.

PURE has both GF and gluten-containing chips. When we arrived, I explained to the waiter that my daughter had celiac and we would need the GF chips. Without our knowledge, we were served the chips with gluten, and my child had a terrible reaction afterwards. It makes me wonder about the other precautions he told me they would take with her good.

The menu has recently changed and the chips are NOT gluten free and cannot be made gluten free although it’s labeled GF available on the menu. The options are EXTREMELY limited now. Sad, this used to be one of my favorite places!
Corn tortillas. GF marked (but ask because not everything is accurate) chips fried in same fryer now. Very disappointing!

New Mexican restaurant that has so many gluten free options. The waiters seem to be knowledgable about celiac disease and have taken great care of me. Unlimited “safe” chips & salsa!! Their Queso Blanca is amazing along with their chicken tacos! Very clean unique place. I have been twice already and yet to get sick.

They had gluten free chips and delicious guacamole! They take extra care of allergies and are knowledgeable and helpful. Almost anything can be made gluten free! The ceviche was delicious as well. Will be back again!
I found a cooked ziti noodle in my rice bowl! The server and manager were very apologetic. The food was delicious but I can't give it a better rating because of the cross contamination.

I love this local chain. This location, in particular, has an amazing rooftop bar. Nearly everything on their menu is gluten free and the food is delicious!! They have totopos that are gluten free (chips not fried in the fryer) and their salsa is to die for. All of their tortillas are homemade corn tortillas. YUM!! To make things even better, their staff and management are so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!!

Great Mexican food with a nice variety of gluten free options clearly marked on the menu. They have gluten free appetizers too! I told our server that I have celiac disease & I was very impressed that when another staff member put tortilla chips on our table, she came right over & told me that they had shared a frier with gluten items & I shouldn't eat them. I had no issues with the food & felt comfortable that the gluten free items were safe for me.

I had an amazing experience here tonight. My boyfriend mentioned the gluten allergy and they immediately brought out gluten free chips and a gluten free menu. I had the tacos el pastor and they were great. Also a skinny Margarita since it's gluten free, too. What a nice treat. I especially loved the chips as I haven't had chips in a Mexican restaurant in a long time. Our server was super knowledgeable, and both friendly and funny. We'll be going back soon.
