I always get the burrito soup and it seems to work well for me. Most things on the menu are naturally gluten free, except flour tortillas of course.

When I mentioned my food allergy they changed gloves. Did not get sick, and I am very sensitive to cross contamination. Would definitely eat here again.

I love this place! This barbacoa location is the best one. The only item they have that contains gluten are the flour tortillas. They are really good about cross contamination, and they are very polite when you mention it!

About the only thing not gluten-free here is the tortillas. Otherwise, quite good. Very similar to Costa Vida / Chipotle in what they serve.

I have tried several locations and found them all unsafe. Staff is not trained on cross-contamination. They will change gloves and wipe counters, but all utensils and cookware are extremely contaminated. I saw them literally spread a flour tortilla with a spoon of guac and plop it back into a container. Not worth the pain.

This was a great place to eat, tasted good and not expensive. The server said the only gluten present was in the flour tortilla. When I told the server I was gluten intolerant, he immediately changed his gloves. I had a burrito bowl with white rice, black beans, pulled pork, cheese, poco and sour cream.

The one DT isn't the best but, the one in West Jordan is VERY accommodating to people with gluten issues. When I tell them I have celiac they, wash hands and change gloves. Great place

Terrible. Food temperature is awful. Flavoring is terrible too. This place doesn't hold a candle to Costa Vida. I will NEVER return. AND I had to ask them to change their gloves, and it pissed him off.

This is my go-to place when not feeling up to cooking my own. They change gloves for me [happily]. They do have flour tortillas, but are trained not to cross contaminate. The nachos and soup are great. I usually get chicken or sweet pork [which is really sweet], the spicy pork is just a little too spicy for my wussiness. No extra charge for sour cream and guac. Lots of food for the money and rarely anyone in line ahead of me. Honestly surprised they don't get a lot more business.

I have been to this location twice and have loved it both times! I'm a very picky eater on top of being Celiac, so I got the hard shell tacos with chicken, cheese and sour cream. At other restaurants similar to this, the workers don't use tongs and I get sick from cross contamination. At Barbacoa, they've use the tongs on at least the people before me, my order, and after me. I haven't had any symptoms and will definitely be going to them more often!

We ordered two burrito bowls (one mango chicken, one steak), the queso and chips and two tacos (one honey sweet pork, one chicken).

It was prepared quickly which is the best thing I can say about Barbacoa.

I asked for no beans and there were a couple beans in my bowl which raises cross-contamination concerns. It tasted like real food, not processed prepackaged junk, except for the queso, which according to their website is a blend of three cheeses with salsa and fresh tomatoes. In reality is was a gritty cheese-like substance with no flavor and a weird texture and definitely didn't have salsa or fresh tomatoes in it.

The honey pork was crazy sweet, the steak was dry and had a strangely fishy flavor, the mango chicken was the consistency of cheap canned tuna, mushy and flavorless. The salads were small for the price and each one had a good 1/4 cup of watery liquid in the bottom. In a word, it was gross.

We ate roughly half the food and regretted it all night. I don't know if we were glutened but we certainly got sick. We won't be going back.

Note: Be forewarned that the Chipotle Ranch Dressing is VERY spicy and your only other option is Cilantro Lime Dressing so if you don't like cilantro you're out of luck.

Everything is cross-contaminated. When they load up the flour tortillas the spoons touched them every time. We asked if the chips were gluten free but they said no. We asked how they are gluten free and they said they wash their hands. That doesn't clean the gluten out of the food!
