Some solid options, fun atmosphere, good price value if not much variety. We come here pretty often. It’s a single shared fryer per location with things like onion rings so even though there’s a claim (and the employees will say) there are a lot of options, I’ve only found 3 different types of dishes: 1- enchiladas with tasty red sauce, 2- tacos (combos under Wing’s Faves), and 3- a loaded corn-tortilla quesadilla (First Wave app) made in a pan with foil. Kids’ items follow same pattern. No gf desserts.
For protein options avoid spicy Cajun fish, Cajun chicken, and fried flounder/fish.
Only white rice, cauliflower rice, the black beans and delish citrus slaw are gf - for sides.
Veg options banzai veg, tofu, spicy mushrooms show as gf on their allergen guide, also as vegan.
Chicken tortilla soup, wahoo’s/chicken salads could work but remember even chips come from shared fryer, but they can be careful to not include “tortilla strips” if specified.
Wine in cans! Stem cider! Something called curation cocktail cans, double check if they’re gf. Agave Marg looks simplest - tequila agave lime, not sure if margs use sketchy mixes.

Not marked on the menu but they seem knowledgeable at both locations I’ve tried. I love the tacos here. My favorites are Al Pastor and Fuego Carnitas. Our absolute favorite tacos

If you ask the servers you can figure your way around the menu. I got the citrus slaw fish tacos with rice and beans and it worked great for me, a Celiac.

Lots of GF options. Food taste won’t blow you away but it’s decent (somewhere between taco shop and Islands). Staff could be better educated on what gluten is.

They have several GF options on their menu. I had the Banzai bowl with carnitas (pork). It was very good and I had no issues. Beware they do not have a dedicated deep fryer and do cook gluten containing items in the fryer.

I live here in the town of Boulder, and this restaurant is incredible! They accommodate the gf very well and are able to always impress me whether I am eating fish tacos or simple rice and beans. The restraint itself is very simple and the food is fast. Overall, this is a great family friendly restaurant and I would highly recommend Wahoos for Celiacs and gf eaters.

Ordered 3 gluten free meals. Tested 2 of the 3 meals with a Nima Sensor & it was Nima approved. The fryer is shared so make sure not to order anything fried off the gluten free menu.

They have a separate gluten-free menu with a good selection of items. Fish tacos are excellent and portions of rice and beans are huge for the combos! Staff are friendly, professional and helpful. Would come visit again.
They've got a gf menu. Pretty much the only place I could find to eat t6.
Pretty decent food too
Great steak nachos. Worthy of a top end restaurant.
Before Wahoos updates their brand, there were several gluten free and vegetarian options. Now, I’m lucky if I can find two. The food quality has also gone down as well, with the items I’ve tried being pretty bland.
No
They could not guarantee a gluten free meal, as there are items cooked on the grill that contain gluten.
No
Gluten free menu, I have eaten here many times without having a problem.
Yes
Citrus slaw tacos with fish. Make sure to have them mild and with no aoli so gluten feee
I asked repeatedly if I was getting corn tortillas. I explained three different times and I have celiac. They brought me flour tortillas. Not worth the risk
No
Not many gluten free options, staff at the time unfortunately wasn’t very helpful
I have been eating here for years. The food is always delicious and I have never been glutened.
Yes
Staff was very knowledgeable, and offered a gluten free menu with plenty of options. I eat wahoo's almost weekly and have not gotten sick.
Yes
Great, knowledgeable service. We went to the W. Point Loma location and the foood was good and friendly. I waited a couple days and no reaction from my Celiac daughters.
Great staff, very helpful and concerned. Food great too.
Yes
Gluten free menu. They tell you if fried food shares a fryer.
Yes
The manager is knowledgeable. Maybe is cross contamination is a problem for you it may not be the place but I eat here often and am sensitive and haven't had any issues. I LOVE that I can have the enchiladas here (no flour in the sauce). Can't eat the steak here because marinated in soy but other meats are fine.
Food was great! Have GF menu with several choices. Would definitely come go back!
I haven't eaten here yet. My husband called me over to check out their gluten free menu. The menu had many choices.
GF options are listed on menu. Staff was super helpful answering questions
stick with the tacos, no cajun seasoning, rice and BLACK beans...not cajun white. You should be ok. ***update*** double check about the steak. The chicken and fish, I don't get the blackened.
Good fast option, with walk up ordering. Had the fish tacos, black beans and white rice as recommended. Cashier was able to quickly pull out allergy information when ordering.
The Wahoo's chain is a solid place to get fish tacos in Los Angeles. However, my experience today at this location only merited 3 stars.I had friends in town who wanted fish tacos, so I took them to Wahoo's, in part because I have Celiac disease and therefore can't eat gluten. When we entered, I asked about gluten free options. The guy at the register asked someone behind the counter, and reported back that they didn't have GF. I pointed at the sign, which clearly stated that they have GF options. The register guy went back to the guy behind the counter, who came out to talk to me. He asked if I wanted Gluten free or "no gluten free." (Who asks for gluten?)I proceeded to ask questions about menu items, but didn't feel confident about his answers until I did some research on my phone. Eventually, I ordered two fish tacos, one regular, one slaw style, with rice and beans. When my meal came, I asked the server if the tortillas were only corn. He hesitated, then said, "Yes..?"The tacos tasted good (not spectacular, but good). The rice and beans were basic. The service was fast and friendly, but not knowledgeable. Please please please train your staff!

There is a gluten free menu upon request. I have eaten here twice and I believe I was glutened. Not for the very gluten sensitive.
My celiac daughter was treated and fed well! The managers were so knowledgeable and friendly! She felt safe and loved the food!
Yes
There are gluten free options and the kitchen is willing to alter menu items that are not gluten free to accommodate you.
Yes
Food is made fresh to order and will modify items.

they were very accommodating to my son's needs. made sure to keep his food separate.
There's no gluten free menu, but I've eaten here successfully many, many times. I'm pretty sensitive to gluten and it seems to be okay. Stay away from the fryer (no chips). I pretty much stick to the fish tacos and fish enchiladas (with green sauce) and the black beans and white rice. Never had a problem. If you do a search on the internet, there's a list of menu items floating around that are supposed to be safe. I've never asked the staff about it and I doubt they would know much.
Yes
They have a dedicated GF menu. Enchiladas are great. I've eaten here 3 times the manager is great with cross contamination the staff members I remind to use new utensils for cooking. Also be sure to order from the GF menu exactly how it is listed. The staff offers sides and options with meals that are not GF so I had to check back on the GF menu to see what was and wasn't GF. NO dedicated GF fryers :0(
Yes
Gluten free charbroiled fish & chicken options. Ask for gluten free menu behind counter.
Food is ok, not fantastic. I hadn't been here before and asked about a gluten free menu, I had to ask 3 different ways for clarification of what I could and could not have, the employee acted like I should know all this already. Other than that, the rest of the service was ok, I had fish tacos, they were ok.
Fantastic service at this restaurant! They can make the tacos gluten free upon request and many other things are gluten free. Food is always good!
