Gluten Intolerant

Hello! My daughter is gluten free and most of her fiancés family have celiac disease so I’m coming to this fantastic community for some guidance. I am in the beginning stages of planning her bridal shower (summer 2024) and am searching for trusted catering and/or venues where I know we can all enjoy the celebration together safely and deliciously. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!❤️

alexr2356 Costa Nachos Food truck has many Gluten free options to choose from, and Taco Boyz located in East Point Shopping Centre have Burrito Bowls, Nachos, and Hard shell taco’s that are all gluten free.

JenM7 Okie Dokie Donuts and Flakely are both 100% gluten free dessert options if you’re doing the event in a private home or space that would allow multiple vendors. Or Lark in Bala Cynwyd does really nice private events and has accommodated my celiac needs in the past. They might be able to do a 100% GF menu if you request. Email [email protected] to ask about your date and possibilities. If you’re looking for more casual food, Fox and Son Fair Foods does catering and is 100% GF (corn dogs, loaded fries, cheese curds, funnel cakes, that type of food)

bkbakes_13 One recommendation from me is for ice cream: Scoop and Score! They serve Graeters (yes it’s spelled like that) ice cream and it is the best no doubt!

CO933 I’d recommend the happy mixer for desserts, they catered the desserts for my bridal shower and wedding and did a phenomenal job. It’s a little pricey, but the blue bell inn in bluebell. has been very good with accommodating gluten-free options anytime I’m there. Choosing the caterer would probably depend on what type of food you’re looking to serve.

CO933 For catering options, Cantina Feliz in Ft Washington is great with GF as well and for my wedding we used Brandywine Events, Ted was amazing and we made the entire menu GF! Good luck!!

misformeal Happy mixer is good! I’ve only had a few of Flakely’s products but from what I’ve had, I’d reccomend them too! 1 reply

carousel Arianna’s café in Westchester also does catering. They have several things that are gluten-free and can accommodate other items. They make fabulous carrot cake cupcakes. Most people in the food industry are getting more familiar with gluten-free items and I would imagine most caterers would be be able to provide those.

JJinPA Find a support group nearby where you can meet others face-to-face if possible. Search and find a good gastroenterologist nearby. Look up the term “cross contamination” and learn what it means for anyone with Celiac Sprue versus what it means for someone with NCGI (non-Celiac gluten intolerance.)

alysonmarie Harvest Grill in Collegeville and Bomba in Malvern are good. My sister and I had a baby shower for my SIL (all of us are celiac) at Sedona Taphouse in Phoenixville. Super great experience and knowledgeable staff. 1 reply
