Celiac

Ron of Japan, Chicago area. Has anyone eaten at Ron of Japan and is it safe? I called and they said they can accommodate but whoever I called wasn’t very friendly.

mary167706 With any teppanyaki place I would ask them to make your food first. If you are a sensitive celiac I might not go- I used to go pre-diagnosis and I am not sure how much they could clean the griddle for you. They do have some options that are not teppanyaki though. I never found staff there to be pleasant or particularly service oriented, and there is teppanyaki by me (vernon hills) that I eat at no problem

cobu19 There is cross-contamination and they do not have gluten-free soy sauce (or at least at the locations I have been to in the past). Most of the items there have a marinade including soy sauce. Definitely call beforehand to make sure since each location could differ
