Asymptomatic Celiac

If you don’t need to avoid gluten contamination then Pan’s mushroom jerky’s are great options. Based on the “Gluten Free” claim on their package I did try some of their flavors and they were delicious! Unfortunately Pan’s mushroom jerky does not seem to be celiac friendly. They have “Gluten Free” on their packaging and website but in their FAQs this is what it says: “Can you be more specific about allergy information? Our facility is not certified allergen-free or gluten-free, which means outside food can enter the facility through new product testing, employee meals, a potential co-packer, etc. And so, there is a risk of cross-contamination with any allergens. We apologize about the inconvenience. We hope to have these certifications in the future as we grow.” They seem to be one of the companies who isn’t following the FDA’s requirement that any “gluten free” claim can only be made if they are claiming the food to have less than 20 ppm gluten. Because of their allergen statement I have been searching for celiac-safe mushroom jerky. Country Archer Provisions has 3 flavors of certified GF mushroom jerky. The BBQ flavor I’ve tried is great.
