    Gluten Intolerant

Most Swiss Miss hot chocolate mixes are great for gluten free diet. Some specific flavors are not gluten free, Lucky Charms flavor is NOT gluten free.

paris48559 Is “modified whey” gluten free? Also is there anybody that has any reaction to wheat AND whey? Lmk I have been drinking hot chocolate a lot lately with it being cold. I’ve been having a lot of stomach reactions since drinking it recently. Specifically Swiss Miss (individual packets or bulk, regular (no added flavors or marshmallows)). 4 months ago

NorahK Yes, modified whey is gluten free. I have Celiac disease and Swiss is usually fine for me! It might be something else that is causing stomach reactions.

gf_ Whey is gluten free! I have reactions to both but that's just because I'm lactose intolerant 1 reply

jenimei22 Whey is GF and so is Swiss Miss. Both comments above are correct; it must be something else and maybe you have sensitivity to lactose or by-products of lactose.

kat783 Same here - it’s gluten free but I don’t feel good if I drink Swiss Miss. I have had better luck with the Land o Lakes hot chocolate. I have not compared the ingredients but now I am curious knowing others feel this way also.

kmom3000 I’m reactive to some chemicals, so I can’t have any of the regular name brands, I have to stick with organic and vegan/dairy free, or make it myself with organic cacao powder.

Fady_D Whey is dairy and quite high in lactose. I personally have reactions to both gluten and lactose. Might be worth checking if the reaction you’re having is due to a lactose intolerance.

cherri42986 Whey and gluten allergies are pretty common unfortunately. I have both, a niece and nephew of mine do too.

sherrymellor Whey is dairy. I’m gluten free and dairy free. All dairy gives me stomach aches. You can make hot chocolate with almond milk or any other milks that are non dairy.

shelley0766 Eliminating all high reaction foods is the best way to determine intolerances. I am definitely intolerant and react to Wheat, Lactose and Chocolate/Cacao and I only found out by introducing one at a time. Best of health to you as you sort this out

myra98105 We have Celiac and use it but make sure you read the label. I think (not sure) they have different varieties and some are GF and others are not.

Lyla_Rose Most amazing hot cocoa I have ever had in my life! ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ enjoy!

pinkspikez If you see any Swiss Miss types and sizes without a GF claim, do not consume. The plain milk chocolate should have a GF visible claim and is safe along with any others you see with a GF claim on the packaging. The others are exposed to contamination.
