a.k.a. AMOT.

What a disappointment! I'm always rooting for places that are exclusively gluten free as I selfishly want them to stay open. But this place was a disaster in so many ways. In a nutshell the service was poor, the food was not cooked well and didn't taste great. Read on if you'd like more details.

Our hotel concierge recommended this place as her "favorite restaurant in Nashville." We were anticipating goodness as we drove into East Nashville and we could detect the hip vibe of an up and coming neighborhood.

When we arrived right as they opened, the door was unlocked by a young lady who clearly was unhappy we showed up. Or that she had to work. Or that the sun was shining. Either way she was unhappy and not about to allow us to bring any sunshine to her miserable day.

We chose a table and sat down. We attempted to order coffee but our server grumpily informed us that "a little knobby thing on our coffee maker is broken so someone had to run out to get a new coffee pot." She implied that they'd be back shortly but alas we were destined to end our meal without caffeine.

Any questions to our server about the menu were clearly asking too much as they were each responded to with a cold, annoyed response. We ordered juice and a mimosa (they were fine) and waters for our kids. The dishes were all clean and that's just about the only plus for this place.

I ordered a dish with two eggs, a breakfast meat and a side. I chose over medium eggs, pork sausage and fruit. The fresh fruit and sausage were fine. My eggs were cooked over hard and slightly burned. Too chewy to eat. Our children had the French toast which was also burned, at no additional charge, and a side of fresh berries. My husband had the chicken and waffles which he indicated were just "okay" though our server indicated they were a popular dish.

Sadly AMOT was a flop. Do not go there. Do not send anyone you know there. Unless they advertise new staff and a new chef it would not be worth your drive or your money.
