We ordered tuna and "risotto" type duck. Both were quite tasty. The food came really fast. We were quite suprised that it came so fast since it was allmost full house. It is really popular among locals and we came just in right time since soon after there was People waiting for table. I believe that the line went at some point outside. I would still suggest to not order anything with bread especially after reading other peoples reviews.

I really want to give this place a great review, because the food was excellent. However my experience as a gluten free diner was very frustrating. I felt encouraged by the fact that they have an allergen chart. However, despite selecting entirely from the items listed as not containing gluten, they returned after placing our order to inform us that actually several items are served with bread. Confusing why it would be marked as gluten free in the first place, but ok. Thanks for the notice. So I then opted to have the meal without the bread. And then… despite all that… it still came with the bread ON TOP of other items. Needless to say that part did not get eaten and I was very disappointed because everything else was really delicious.

The food was so good that I went there 2 times during my stay in the Azores!
This restaurant has a lot of demand so you have to have wait for your turn (the waiting can last almost 1 and 1/2 hours when there is a lot of people), but it is worth it. You just got to have a lot of patience!
There is a variety of dishes and even though they aren’t all gluten-free, if you tell them about your intolerance or allergy they can adapt to it.
The first time I went I ordered the bacalhau which came a little cold but was good. The second time I had the alcatra and this was truly delicious! For desert I had the caramel mousse which was also spectacular.
The staff is very knowledgeable and is happy to help in case of an allergy or any other concern.
A very good experience overall.

We were greeted by an awesome server named Andre. When we started asking him questions he asked right away if we had celiac. My husband ordered the fish of the day and my daughter ordered the grilled chicken with fries. For dessert the server brought a binder that listed the allergens for each dessert. Upon flipping through the book I noticed allergens were listed for each dish. I was shocked. They said that every restaurant has one. That was the only restaurant that showed me this. My daughter ordered the chocolate mousse and my husband the yam pudding.

Was so excited to visit because of the reviews and the place is always busy! The staff was great - attentive, knew about the GF options/procedures, etc. but the food was just okay. Potatoes are fried by themselves so are safe to eat. Very safe option on Ponta Delgada!

A Tasca is a “must-go” in Ponta Delgada with a huge dinner and drink menu. I had a grilled fish of the day with veggies and potatoes and some delicious mushrooms (cogumelos) as an appetizer. Yummy and I felt as though I had several dinner options!

Excellent and helpful staff. The guy spoke perfect English and knew what I meant by “gluten free”. I had broccoli soup and the cod main dish. The soup was good. The cod was thick and tough with onions on top, which made it seem very fishy. Would not order that again.

Staff was knowledgeable and able to accommodate my gluten intolerance, even explained in English (though I showed my GF restaurant card in Portuguese which helped). I was able to enjoy a variety of tapas and main dishes! And the food was delicious!
