I am celiac and love Ethiopian food but only knew of one place in Denver that prepares GF injera (Queen of Sheba), and that one you have to call a few days ahead for it, plus I do not think she delivers. I was browsing Uber Eats and was so excited to see that Abyssinia offers GF injera too. I checked here & saw good reviews. I added comments to my order to please ensure everything was prepared GF, since I am very sensitive. I am happy to report I had no gluten reaction, and the food was delicious. I will still go to Queen of Sheba too, as I highly recommend it, but for delivery I will definitiely be ordering from Abyssinia again!

They totally get cross-contamination! Call ahead for gluten-free injera (bread), but we had a group with 2 celiacs and 2 glutenators and they did a great job. He made sure the food was on gluten free injera, not the normal bread (Ethiopian food is served family-style on a platter). Ask for extra plates and serving spoons if you have a mixed group so you avoid contamination. They were so accommodating and friendly!

Haven’t had Ethiopian in over 15 years! If you call ahead, they will make you gluten-free bread to eat with, everything was so tasty and wonderful. I am very sensitive (to dairy too!) and don’t feel ill at all. The owner is a wonderful, jovial fellow and very knowledgeable about his food. Go and enjoy!
