The Ox stew and port wine pear desert was extraordinary ! also ordered duck stew and fish&shrimp rice, both taste nice too. All of which they ensured had no gluten, and I was alright after eating (I am only gluten intolerance)

I know people rave about this place, so maybe I just made a bad choice of dish...
I got the octopus main course and it was just not good. The base was some tomato-y, fish-y situation and was just too rich and drowned out the octopus. Was one of the more expensive places we had dinner at this week too.. The wine was good though.

This place is such a gem! All but one stew, one desert and the bread are GF. So there is minimal risk of cross contact. Staff is very knowledgeable. This was my family’s favorite meal while on holiday and they are not GF. Very impressed!

The staff were so kind and knowledgeable. I don’t eat dairy and they assured me it was safe. A really lovely, local, authentic restaurant. We had the fish and prawn rice which was incredible.

Outstanding traditional Portuguese food, great service and ambiance, and the staff understand what gluten free means! Our waiter pointed out the (very few) items that were not gf, and my (celiac) daughter thoroughly enjoyed her meal. We highly recommend this gem of a spot in Alfama!

This place is a total gem!! My group was looking for a dinner spot and this app led me to Alfama Cellar and I’m SO happy it did! Like others have mentioned only 1 dish and bread are not gf and the stew is amazing! Huge portions and my group of gluten eating travelers all agreed it was the best meal we ate in Portugal. The owner was so sweet and even squeezed us in much earlier for dinner after I mistakenly made a reservation for later than I thought I did. I’d definitely recommend reservations though as it’s a tiny place and pretty popular!

So delicious, and as others mentioned, everything on the menu except grandmas stew and the bread is GF!!! Staff were very knowledgeable and I felt very safe with each dish in its own pot and few gluten ingredients even in the kitchen. I had the cod at the recommendation of those here and it was SO GOOD!!! Such an amazing find!

Very communicative staff and amazing food. Codfish cellar and gazpacho were very tasty and I feel great! Only one thing on the item was not gluten free (other than bread if you get oil etc).

We are so glad we stopped here. Nearly everything on the menu is gluten free, as previous reviews mentioned. It’s a small intimate space and the owner is a joy! He actually did a little wine and port tasting for us with explanations of each to help us choose a wine with our meals, which were delicious

Almost everything on the menu is gluten free. We had the fish and prawn cataplana and the codfish cellar, which were both amazing! The gentleman that took care of us spoke English, French and Portuguese. He took the time to explain the dishes and also warned about the creme brûlée having cornstarch that may contain gluten so we decided to have the roasted pear instead, which was delicious. Will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Very nice restaurant with gluten free options. The waiter seemed to know quite a lot about gluten free. I had the stuffed chicken which was very nice. We also had the flourless chocolate cake which was gluten free and delicious.

My family and I ate dinner at this restaurant our first night in Lisboa. Everything but one item on the menu was GF and the staff was extremely helpful. We ordered the oxtail starter, lamb & duck stews (2 separate dishes) and shared the chocolate mousse and crème brûlée for dessert. It was a delicious meal and fun dining experience. I would highly recommend this place!

Staff was very nice and helpful regarding gluten free items. They spoke a variety of languages which was also helpful. Most of the menu is gluten free and food was delicious yet still reasonably priced.
Everything on the menu apart from their bread could be adapted to celiac needs. The staff was super friendly and wery knowleadgeable about gluten ans cross contamination. My BF and I could share both starters and main courses without issues, a rare treat.
