Always a bit leery of eating out. But had a good experience here, no sickies. Had the Sunrise Spinach Scrambler with a side of grits and tomato slices. Ordered from the “gluten-friendly” menu. No dedicated frier, so no potatoes. Very nice server, quite a long wait to be seated and to get food after ordering. But we were there at noon which is probably their busiest time. Would go again!
My son (celiac dx) ordered from their gluten free kids menu this morning. He had baby GF pancakes, bacon and eggs. He had a terrible reaction and his meal was not safe for him. I called the restaurant to let them know that they served him the wrong food or had cross contamination(they’re supposed to cook gf on separate/own skillet). Would not eat here again. Not celiac safe.
Very pleased with my experience here. There is a separate menu and everything looks so good! The pancakes are made in a dedicated space on the grill. I didn't ask about deep fryer though as I didn't have anything deep fried. I had the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes, with scrambled eggs and housemate patties and it was delicious! I did see someone else's comment that the toast is toasted with regular bread so I did avoid this and did not ask
The manager and waiter were both super knowledgeable. They did have a "gluten friendly" menu, which always makes me laugh, but when I asked about cross contamination they gave several options.
The hostess didn't know much, and I happened to get a waiter who previously worked in a GF restaurant. But the manager has clearly had training on gluten, so I would recommend asking for the manager.
Also their GF bread is super good! I asked them to pan toast it and it was great.
As the review below mentions, they had a cc disclosure. I tend to trust restaurants who do that more than those who don't. Restaurants who don't disclose trend to be more ignorant about how cross contamination works, so are likely to accidentally poison me. So the disclosure is green flag in my book!
We sat at the bar. The bartender super knowledgeable. Separate menu but. They cook the pancakes on the same grill they use the same toaster for the toast. She recommended an omelette would be the safest for me. Disappointing, I wanted the bourbon street pancakes but saved a lot of calories.
