Excellent place! Been here several times and have never had any issues. Gluten free choices are plentiful and the choice can never be the wrong one when it comes to this establishment. An early morning breakfast would make the most sense so you don’t have to wait or go at super busy times! Staff are very knowledgable and food is delicious! This is a must if in Tuscaloosa!

The gluten free menu had details about all of the items and was a pretty extensive list. The omelet was delicious and came with gluten free toast and a choice of fruit or grits. The waitress was knowledgeable and informed me that the seasoning on the potatoes contained gluten, which was much appreciated.

Staff was extremely helpful. Checked ingredients on multiple items for us and subbed out cheeses for goat cheese. Have been there several times, and would absolutely go again.

The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about Celiac and assured me everything was cooked on a separate surface and what would not be safe.

Another Broken Egg Cafe only offers a “gluten-friendly” menu with an asterisk next to most menu items claiming that cross contamination cannot be completely avoided. I read reviews that mentioned pancakes but when I asked about how they were prepared, I was told that they are made on the same surface as other gluten containing pancakes so I didn’t want to take the risk. I ordered the Hey Lucy Omelet with a side of bacon and found the food to be pretty good, especially since I had no reaction. I’d recommend this restaurant but urge you to order with caution.

I always enjoy my meal here and agree with he other comments here. Cocktails are good, pancakes are fantastic, and I have never had any issues. Staff are knowledgeable about food allergies. It’s so good that I always say to my husband, “is this really gluten free?” Prices are reasonable and my family enjoys the food as well.

Been here twice as a celiac college student and never had any problems! The staff is knowledgeable and they have a whole separate gluten free menu if u request one from the server. Never gotten sick here and the brunch food is awesome! I love the goat cheese blueberry pancakes.

Excellent meal and very safe (and they have iced coffee!).

The food here is so good and I didn't get sick after eating here! I ordered the Hey Lucy omelette with dollar size gluten free pancakes and I ate every single bite! The coffee was also really good! Will definitely be coming back here soon!
Yes
No gluten free menu, but they had items that could be made gluten free (pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc.). I got the gluten free peach cobbler pancakes. So good I couldn't tell they were gluten free. Mine did come out with oats, but the server was very apologetic and replaced it quickly and took it off our bill. I also got scrambled eggs, bacon, and city grits. All delicious. I did not get sick after eating here.

Great options for gluten allergy. The scramble was excellent. GF pancakes were great, too.

Banana Fosters gluten friendly pancakes were delicious. Be prepared-they are very sweet.
Scrambled eggs were undercooked and runny in the middle. I couldn’t eat them.
Bacon was delicious and cooked perfectly.

Went with my celiac husband for breakfast today, we confirmed several times he had an allergy and not just a sensitivity and they reassured us they use separate pans, etc and take precautions to prevent any exposure. They told us to stay away from potatoes which we did and there was a miscommunication and they gave him the wrong food which made him nervous. They fixed their error and got him a new omelet and he did end up with a reaction soon after. I WILL say I appreciate the separate menu, and that they warned us that their food is not guaranteed to be GF but they try to limit. The waiter also really did seem to knowledgeable with what was best or worst to get. You’re rolling the dice eating here for sure if you have celiac.
