BEWARE IF YOU ARE CELIAC. After I had eaten a couple slices of gf pizza I noticed that the staff did not change gloves, and the gf dough was thrown on the counter that was covered in wheat flour to be stretched. When I asked the manager about it, her reply was that “it isn’t that kind of kitchen “. I commented that even Mod Pizza can manage gluten allergies, so she said she writes “ special precautions” on the ticket if a customer states that they are CELIAC when ordering a gf crust. From my observations the staff wouldn’t know what to do even if it were noted on the ticket. “Not that kind of kitchen” says it all. And yes, I was sick for 2 days afterwards. And to top it off, the gf crust wasn’t even very tasty. I expected more from an upscale pizza restaurant.
Stopped here on our trip to Moab and was happy with the pizza. I have had caputto before and it was as expected. Watching them prepare the pizza I would say this is not a safe place for those with cross contact issues. Lots of flour being thrown and it states on the menu the GF pizza is not appropriate for those with severe allergies.
Not great measures to prevent cross contact as the gluten free crusts are cooked in the same oven as regular. The service is super fast. The atmosphere very friendly and fun. Dog friendly in outdoor seating.
Waitress was rude when I called to order gluten-free pizza takeout, asking to please double-check with kitchen that the order was gluten-free. She was rude again when I picked up the pizza. I thought the pizza was okay. My husband and daughter liked it. Atmosphere ok, too. Wouldn't return with all the other GF options in Moab.
I’ve been eating gluten free for about 11 years, and I feel like I have developed gluten intolerance as a result. I had absolutely no adverse reaction to the gluten free pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. This is at the top of my short list for places to eat in Moab.
Okay so I’m allergic to wheat, so sadly the gluten free pizzas weren’t an option for me as they use wheat starch. HOWEVER, the staff was incredibly accommodating. The boss came out to talk to us and was so well-informed about what was wheat free and what wasn’t, as well as informing me about their kitchen practices and making alterations to cooking procedures to fit my needs. For me personally, my options were limited but I can imagine for other gluten free people it’s great! Would absolutely come here again and I was truly blown away by how kind and accommodating the staff was!!! I had the steak dinner.
Two stars because the staff were kind. I do wish they would have said something about using wheat starch when I called beforehand to ask about their gluten free practices. If you’re just gluten intolerant, you would probably be fine. I will never trust wheat starch, no matter if it’s supposed to be gf.
I have been gluten free for 5 years now and you HAVE to go here. I have never tasted a gluten free pizza like this. They import the gluten free flour from Italy and it is so good! When they said I could get the dessert pizza gluten free I about cried. If you are in Moab you need to go here.
Nice italian restaurant.
They serve both pizza and pasta, glutenfree options available.
As my daughter is celiac, we dubble checked with staff to avoid risk of cross contamination. Staff explicitely discussed with the kichen and everything went perfect. Best glutenfree pizza ever, my daughter told us.
Also the regular pizzas were really good.
We enjoyed a nice evening with good food !
The pizza is delicious but not celiac safe. They have a sep area to prep the pizza and a sep cutter but the gf pizza is cooked on the same over surface with the regular pizza. I willingly accepted this risk and ended up getting sick but that was my fault. If you are sensitive or celiac, their menu also states not to eat the pizza.
Eat here with caution or not at all if you are celiac. They NO longer have a separate space to make the gluten free pizza. Was told by server that the kitchen found it to be an inconvenience to separate making the pizzas. Server was nice & food was good but definitely not safe for celiacs.
I got the Margherita Pizza and it was so amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough. My very favorite GF pizza is in NYC but this place gave that a run for its money!
OMG! I used to think Woodstocks pizza in Santa Cruz, CA was the best gluten free pizza, but no. This place I was amazed how the crust was so fluffy and it tasted soooo good I had to confirm if it was gluten free! They prepare the gluten free items on a separate station and if I have one crumb of gluten i am sick for days and didn’t feel sick after eating here. SO GOOD! Have to go here if you’re ever in Moab or Vernal!
Had THE BEST GF pizza ever here! Proprietary GF crust with actual edges which had air pockets in it. I’m having dreams of it now typing this. Too bad the drive is hours away or else I’d eat this pizza weekly. As the GF pizza is cooked in the same wood fires oven as pizza containing wheat, it is explicitly noted on the menu and states this pizza is not for those with celiac.
