BOOK AHEAD! Santorini is a small island, with a locally run vibe. You’re gonna be a bit stretched for options if you’re a coeliac. But at this particular venue, as of Sep 2019, there is one particular waiter who is very knowledgeable and very careful, but I think we only had him as our server because we booked ahead and told the, we had a coeliac dining, over the phone beforehand. The other waiters, as soon as we mentioned GF, just grabbed the ‘GF guy’ let’s call him, and he dealt with our concerns, with utmost professionalism. For instance, he even asked our gluten diner just how sensitive she is because he knows the local milk producers sometimes use vats that have been contaminated with gluten, so he could modify his recommendations to exclude local Greek milk products accordingly. The food itself is completely stunning, we had the crab salad, the mussels, the octopus, and the salmon fillet, it was super yum and very well presented. I really can’t recommend this more if you’re a coeliac on Santorini, but please, make sure you get a booking beforehand and tell them you’re a coeliac. Full marks.
