Got the hickory smoked chicken and sides. Salad was great. You just have to stay away from the biscuits.

We ordered a huge family pack meal to go and we had several people with use that needed to be gluten free. When we got home we discovered that they put the biscuits in with the baked chicken (which was supposed to be gluten free). So definitely not Celiac friendly due to cross contamination.

Our daughter was just diagnosed celiac a few months ago & before her diagnosis, this was one of her favorite restaurants. We went back for the first time tonight & was pleasantly surprised that she could basically have everything except for the gravy & the biscuits. Granted, she couldn’t have chicken tenders like she used to, but she had the smoked chicken instead. She was so excited she could basically eat like she used to!
Most of their condiments contain gluten but they let us bring our own barbecue sauce for her. Also, their honey comes from a container that everyone has access to so we were worried about cross contamination but they have individual packets of honey in the back if you ask for it. We brought a gluten free piece of bread for her to have while the rest of us had a biscuit.

Very sensitive to gluten and had no reaction. Stay away from gravy and biscuits. Smoked chicken was delicious and so is the creamed corn and sweet tea!!

Amazing!! Everything but the fried chicken, the gravy, and the biscuits is GF!! Even the fried catfish is cornmeal based and fried in a dedicated fryer. Service was phenomenal! (Ask for Chase to be your waiter if you want someone who goes above and beyond!)

Awesome smoked chicken, mash potatoes that brought me to tears they were so good, and delish green beans. They have a chart of ingredients of all food. So good and feel great after eating there. Just FYI..Allergic to gluten, corn, peanuts and soy...
They really take good care of you. They don't have a menu but have an allergies chart that helps to guide your menu selections. The fried fish (fried in cornmeal) is amazing and I have no pains!

Always have had success at Babes.

Some of the best eating out with Celiac you can have.

Emailed the manager and told we can have smoked chicken, fried catfish, corn, green beans, and salad. (That is all entrees except fried chicken, biscuits, gravy, and tarter sauce!) The fish was superb and family-style service fun!
I eat there often but I don't usually eat the corn. I ate the corn recently and had an attack. I called to inquire if the corn was gluten free and they said yes. Searching the internet it says their grandma's corn has flour. I usually eat catfish, green beans, mash potatoes and salad. Be careful and do your research.

Can have everything but the gravy and biscuits. Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans are all excellent. I’ve never had a reaction here, even with the salad. I know some reviews say their salad has gluten but I’ve had a few times now with no issues.

They have a menu which shows what does and doesn’t have gluten and flour. The waitress also gave me separate food since this is more of a family style place where everyone digs in at the table. Two choices of meat and most of the sides, aside from the biscuits, are gluten free. Best BBQ place I’ve been to since I was dx’d with Celiac 8 yrs ago.

The catfish, baked chicken, green beans, and corn are still GF. However, we went today and they said the mashed potatoes are not. The salad dressing and tarter sauce are also not GF, and the “salad” they brought us was literally only lettuce in a bowl. We were disappointed to pay $20 a plate for just 3 pieces of fish, green beans that were burnt, and corn.

This location offers 2 entrees that are GF: hickory smoked chicken and fried catfish. Green beans, corn and mashed potatoes are safe. Salad is fine if no dressing (salad is just lettuce but they said the vinegar used in the salad dressing contains a problem ingredient). Don’t eat the gravy or biscuits. They made a note on our called in order and carefully packed the biscuits separately. So happy my hubby could enjoy Babe’s for Father’s Day and there was something I could eat, too!
