New food runner mixed up gluten free and regular bread (causing person with celiac disease to eat gluten). Server was fine, but manager tried to dismiss it as not a big deal because it was only a bite. Did not offer to comp the meal or any other way of making things right. Will not be going again.

This was an amazing find in Raleigh. I haven't had gluten free focaccia this good since I was living in Italy and visited Cinque Terre. Definitely a must! Colored plates for GF foods as well.

The best place for GF Italian in Raleigh and my favorite GF restaurant in the area. They know how to make sure your food is uncontaminated and they offer a full menu from breads to dip in olive oil, appetizers, entrees, pizzas to desserts. They usually have a GF beer as well. My non-celiac friends all love this place. It is usually busy so reservations are a must.

Not sure of their food is good, but the staff is very rude. I would not recommend trying this place with more than 4 people. Very unaccomodating. We left.

We just finished a fabulous meal here and had to add another 5 star review. Great GF options and very knowledgeable staff. They use different color plates for the gluten free food, and made sure to bring some gluten free bread out before dinner. Wanted to stay for dessert because there were plenty of options but were just too full. All the gluten filled meals were wonderful as well, this was a great find, thanks to the app. Highly recommend!!

huge g-free menu! ordered a chicken and goat cheese small plate and a side of broccoli rabe for a light lunch. was surprised by some complimentary g-free focaccia (!) to accompany my meal, and nice olives. also, had an impressive vermouth cocktail.

Bella Monica is AMAZING. The food is so good and there are a ton of gluten free options! The waitstaff are all very knowledgeable and friendly. The GF focaccia bread and tiramisu are really impressive, along with the brunch selection. I will definitely be coming here for brunch more often! By the way, the signage is terrible. The front of the restaurant has a sign that says "pizza," but it's covered by a big tree. We weren't sure we were at the right place until we got to the door...

Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and even shared that she is too, a celiac. I have never felt so comfortable eating in a restaurant since being diagnosed with Celiac 2 years ago. the menu is OUTSTANDING. The chicken Balsamica was amazing and so was the shrimp scampi. Don't pass up an excellent meal and awesome service!!

This place exceeded my expectations! gluten free focaccia to start:) the host gave me a red plate, so that the waiter knew I was gluten free before he even took our order. I haven't ordered dessert yet, but I cannot wait for the Cheese cake, my favorite!

Our server knew exactly what to do when I mentioned gluten free. The gluten free rosemary focaccia was great and my pizza was amazing! Be aware that the pizza is now 10" and they will charge you $13.99 instead of the $9.99 on the menu.

Incredible food! I checked with the waitress to make sure my stuffed shells were really gluten free- that's how good they were. They take so many precautions to make sure you're safe and truly understand cross contamination, which unfortunately most restaurants don't. The wine, focaccia and dessert were all incredible as well. Genuinely great, quality food. I'm so excited I found this place and can not stop raving about it. I can't wait to go back!

Absolutely wonderful! They have a dedicated gluten free menu and do an absolutely awesome job! I had the gluten free ravioli, a Caesar salad, and Kahlua cheesecake (with a gluten free crust). They also automatically brought out gluten free bread with oil and Italian herbs. Gluten free dishes were served on a different color plate.

I believe this is the best gf restaurant in Raleigh. I see people insulting the pizza, but if you are going to Bella Monica for pizza, you are missing out on the great food the chef prepares. If you want pizza, there are good gf pizza places. I always get a chicken dish or pork medallions. The sauces are wonderful. The gf bread drizzled with herbed olive oil is delightful. The salad is a feast for the eyes. I don't care for the flourless chocolate cake, but there are other gf desserts.

The owners at Bella monica opened a restaurant to recreate the recipes their Italian nana made for them as children. they use only imported San marzano tomatoes for their sauce and the f latbread pizzas are made with fresh ingredients. on the gluten-free menu, all the ingredients from the rice f lour crust to expeller pressed olive oil are clearly listed so those with allergies can eat without worry.

What's not to love about this find!! From the all encompassing gf menu, to the knowledgable staff, to the colored plates that remind the staff you are gf...it's all wonderful. And the food: Oh my!!! Best gf bread I've had in years. So good!!! Gf beer, bread, pasta, pizza. We had pasta and salad. Can't wait to eat here again.

The menu looked great but I was in a hurry and grabbed a gf flatbread as takeout. My flatbread pizza was disappointing and expensive. I felt like making a frozen Udi's pizza would have been bigger, tastier and cheaper. I'm really interested in trying their pastas and stuff though!

Great gluten free menu! I had awesome gf stuff shell pasta, Cesar salad and of course bread. Yes you heard it right bread! We didn't know to make a reservation so we had to wait awhile, but it was well worth the wait! (Definitely recommend reservations) And since it was our first time here and we had waited and still had smiles on our face we got a free dessert and it was awesome! They also gave us a military discount. I'm leaving full and extremely happy!

I had 4 pieces along with my pasta. the chicken and sauce was great, the noodles were obviously not house made, but could have bought better. overall, great atmosphere and enough to earn 4 stars. a lot of great options BTW. the chicken with spinach and tomatoes is tops.

They are wonderful. They take food allergies very seriously. The server even changed out my clean cutlery with some that had gone through a separate wash to avoid even a trace of allergens. Menu is clearly defined and options are good. They truly understand what it takes to serve a customer with food issues.

I don't think it's fair to rate the whole restaurant based on their pizza. They sell frozen GF pizza in stores, and that's what you get in the restaurant. ******they have a separate prep area, separate GF ingredients and are VERY careful about cross-contamination******* If you don't like their pizza, don't eat it, but don't give one star to a restaurant that goes above and beyond to make sure you're SAFE. That said, the service is stellar, and the eggplant parm is beyond delicious. They have excellent GF focaccia, polenta, and WOW the mushroom appetizer. They had GF before it was "cool" and they work HARD to keep you safe. AND they have Saturday brunch.... you get a full menu with more than just a few boring items! This place deserves 6 stars.

I must say that I am surprised that people seem to give this place good reviews. Perhaps some folk are just glad to be able to eat at all? I found two if their GF pizzas appallingly bad. How they think being celiac means you will eat absolutely dire food I don't know. The pizza base was TERRIBLE, and the stuff on top was also dreadful. It is perfectly possible to make good gluten-free pizza. There is no excuse for the dross they served us. Sorry! I hate to be so negative but it was BAD.

I grew up in Durham but have lived in Kentucky for 55 years. About 4 years ago my son, granddaughter and I were diagnosed as Gluten intolerant. We love any type of flatbread. I bought several of Bella Monica products. It was like finding an old friend. When I saw where it was made I was excited that my home state and that Raleigh was the location had produced something that we could at last enjoy. When I come home next July I am going to have to come by and try other meals. Thank you so much. Dawana Faye Daniel
