All of their meats are gluten-free and they have gluten-free barbecue sauce. I ordered a whole chicken online and they called me to tell me that they usually put it in the fryer which isn’t a dedicated gluten-free fryer. They said that they would not do this because I was celiac, but just wanted to check in with me. They are very aware of cross-contamination and I’ve eaten here several times and have not gotten sick. They clearly state on their menu that they do not have a dedicated fryer even though they do offer a gluten-free breading. if you have celiac or are gluten intolerant, you should know that you can’t eat food out of a shared fryer without risking getting sick. If you want great barbecue and choices of gluten-free sides that aren’t fried this is the best place in town.
Great food! We’re receptive to celiac/gluten allergy, although the lady working the register didn’t fully understand the difference between celiac and gluten-free ass a preference. We explained and she was great about it!! They have a dedicated gluten-free menu, and the ribs were delish! No dedicated gluten-free fryer, but workers accommodate gluten-free services; gloves, utensils, etc.
The service is outstanding and they are very willing to explain exactly what is gluten-free free and what might be cross contaminated like the fries. Writing the review while waiting for the food. If it's half as good as the service we will definitely be back. Also all the meat has gluten-free options.
This place is amazing! They even wrote me a handwritten note explaining which items in my order I was able and unable to eat. The extra care they took for my needs was beautiful. Highly highly recommend the GF fried chicken and GF BBQ sauce
Good food and the staff is knowledgeable. They have a GF menu with a lot of options. As others have mentioned, the fryer is not dedicated, so some items are not safe for celiacs. If you can tolerate a shared fryer, they will make you fried chicken, onion rings, etc with rice flour.
This was super good! I loved the smoky taste of my ribs and you could tell they had been cooked in a smoker. I have to eat gluten free so I requested the GF menu and there were plenty of choices. I had the spare ribs, cheesy grits, and garlic mashed potatoes. She wasn’t going to have any onions on it until I asked if they could make them gluten free. They did, so basically I had a little batch of skinny onion rings! They do share a fryer so it may not be safe for Celiacs, but I’m gluten intolerant and don’t usually have problems with shared fryers. They have a bottle of GF BBQ sauce over by the other options on a tray.
This place, by far, had the best side options, including fried onions! The owner's wife Stephanie was super friendly and knowledgeable of the allergy. For true celiacs, they use the same fryer to cook gf food as non-gf food. We loved this place and will return again, and again.
They have a gluten-free menu, gluten-free sauce, and the guy taking my order also told me that they have a gluten-free batter and can make chicken fingers, fried fish, etc. not sure if they have a dedicated fryer. I'm not a celiac, but have a bad intolerance and felt good afterward. They seem like they would be helpful if you had celiac, just based on how much of an effort they've made. Creme brûlée for dessert, too. Yum!
