I had high hopes based on reviews but please BE CAREFUL! My daughter was violently ill after eating here. We were excited about the calamari but my guess is that’s what did it. Our server didn’t speak English very well but was convincing. When I called to speak to manager, another non English speaking person answered. Told me I was wrong bc they only served us GF. he said the calamari was breaded in corn and that the manager would call me on Monday. It’s wednesday and I still haven’t heard from him/her. It didn’t taste like corn breading. We were pretty upset. In NYC for 4 nights and my daughter was sick for most of it. Thanks Bistango.

Ate here again between Christmas and New Years for my daughters birthday. They did not disappoint. Food was awesome. Service was really good even though they had a HUGE party of 20 down the middle of the restaurant. Bistango has become one of our go to for gluten free in NYC.

We were able to call for a reservation the same day which was nice. We were seated without menus which wasn't that big a deal, but the ONE waitress for the entire restaurant was slammed with large parties and took a LONG time to get to us. We were asked about allergies as the first thing so they are very allergy/gluten aware. We finally ordered drinks, appetizers and our dinner at the same time. They brought out our drinks and fresh bread. They gave my celiac daughter gluten free bread with olive oil and garlic which she enjoyed very much and I thought it was very good too. They never brought out our appetizers, but we waited so long that we didn't care - until the appetizers showed up on our bill. I got the Pollo meal, my older daughter got the GF spinach ravioli, my celiac daughter got Caesar salad with grilled chicken and my husband got a regular rigatoni meal. The food was delicious and ALL the desserts, but the Tiramisu were gluten free - we got the cheesecake, the Apple brûlée and the Trisome. The service was horrid and slow, but the food and gluten free options made up for it. We were here between Christmas and New Years so it's possible the wait staff was just off. We would definitely try this restaurant again when in town.

Been going since 2014 and shockingly doesnt look like I ever rated this place. Has had its ups and downs but dinner was phenomenal tonight. Asked all the right questions. Got the grilled octopus and steak. No issues. The bread at the beginning is always appreciated too.

The food is high quality but portions are small and eating here is always very expensive. I would recommend the raw coconut cake - a bit steep at $12 but very tasty. The pizzettes are all dairy-based - it would be nice if they got some vegan cheese.

When we sat down our waiter immediately asked if anyone had a food allergy. They were attentive and my food was great. I had no reaction. They also bring you your own plate with GF bread and olive oil to dip in. No reaction and the food was amazing!

Loved our GF meals!!! Fabulous delicious food. My daughter and I could eat everything served. We both have Celiac and eating out is at times impossible or challenging. One of us gets sick as food is tainted with gluten, but NOT at Bistango!!! Amazing service and they were so very attentive to our dietary needs. My new favorite place in NYC!!!

Phenomenal food, drinks and service. Sterlin was our waitor - he went through the menu to recommend good options, and came back to make different suggestions after confirming options with the chef (he double checked - very impressive). Grilled octopus app was amazing, as was the steak and the pork osso buco. The guava margarita was also great.
