The fries are marked GF but aren’t fried in a dedicated fryer. We called the manager over to make sure the other items marked GF actually were as I get very sick. I chose the stuffed flounder with a baked potato after talking to him. It felt like the safest option. The outdoor seating on the bay was nice.
Everyone at the table disliked their meal. I asked about gluten-free each time I ordered and verified when they brought the meal. When my meal arrived after a hour and some wait the meal had a onion ring on the plate that was not gluten free. They brought me a new meal but at that point I was unsure I wanted to take the risk. I would not try if celiac. I didn’t feel great after
No
They do have gluten free options. The food is hit and miss and very buttery. Just don’t go during peak times. The kitchen gave us a dish with gluten despite the menu said GF. They fixed it, but took about an hour to finally get our food.
Some what an expensive place. But it was still ok ๐๐ป.

We have eaten here a couple of times. The first few times the food was just ok. The most recent time we went, I ordered the stuffed shrimp! That was great!! We will go back again this year.
My meal was terrible. My stomach was so upset after eating here :( They had 0 knowledge of gf items/ celiac disease. Their baked potatoes are cooked next to their bread so don't trust it and they said it's hard to avoid CC. ๐
Server knowledgeable and accommodating. I had potato skins stuffed with warm chicken salad and provolone. Huge serving, enough for another meal at home. Really excellent. Menu is marked with gluten free items. I would go back in a second. Tiny salad, safe but not worth the price
Yes
Decent size menu. Have a couple soups that were gf. I had the crab stuffed flounder and was not impressed. Wasn't much crab but that was OK, the fish was just mushy. I was told the french fries were cooked in their own fryer in peanut oil so I tried them. The fries were the best part of my meal. If you like stuffed flounder, visit Waterman Seafood Co. a couple miles from the shore. Best stuffed flounder I've ever had!
My husband was so excited when he saw that the pastrami sandwich was listed as GF on the menu. He questioned the waitress and she said since it was labeled GF then everything on the plate is GF. Also said they have a designated fryer for fries! Wow! He was so excited till it arrived. The manager brought it out and it looked fabulous! He asked 1 more time to be told, " yeah it's GF if you don't eat the bread! What! She was rude and slammed the menu down and told him to order something else. He asked for an order of fries. She said to eat the ones on the plate then. When he told her he couldn't bc they were touching the bread she rolled her eyes and left. Waitress came back and apologized but it was too late. Do Not Go There If You Are Celiac or GF! Never again!

A few good options with a lot of labeling on the menu especially with the salad dressings which you don't usually find! Chicken salad potato skins were awesome and a huge portion!
I have never written a restaurant review before, but this was the single worst experience I have had at a restaurant since my gluten issue developed, and it warrants a warning.
BJ's marks certain items on their menu with the handy GF icon, but DO NOT TRUST THEM. We ordered an appetizer dip that came with "multi-grain crackers". When it arrived, I was suspicious that they were GF (I've never seen a GF cracker look that good) and I asked the waiter to confirm. He said "I promise those are gluten free... they're multi-grain!" I still didn't feel right so I asked to see the box. First ingredient: whole wheat flour. I asked to see the manager, and when she came out, she was hostile and unapologetic. She told me that lots of things on their menu are gluten free if you don't eat certain things on your plate ("like sandwiches!") and customers should understand that. I challenged her that the menu didn't specify that ridiculous caveat, and the misinformation from her obviously undertrained staff made the situation worse. She went on to blame the server for not knowing the menu better and me for thinking that crackers could possibly be gluten free. There was no apology, and we still had to pay for the appetizer!
Avoid this place at all costs.

Beware. I ate here last year with my son who has a gluten allergy. They advertised gluten free menu and French fries. My first question is always - do you have a dedicated fryer for the FF. the server said to me "No". I said then how can you say they are gluten free ? They may start off that way, but it's how you cook them ... They wouldn't pan fry them for is :( very disappointing.
No
I have celiac and ordered the shrimp imperial and potato skins. I did not get sick from either. Little pricy but overall good meal.
Good options but as others have said- beware of the fried items. I have gotten crab imperial and surf and turf option- had no issues and the servers were knowledgeable.
Went here with family of 5 with one Celiac. Great service, great food, great atmosphere, great views. Menu well marked for GF. To quote my daughter, "this is the best restaurant in Maryland!"
Yes
ok. flounder and crab imperial very good but more imperial sauce than crab.... items marked GF that are not so beware. staff knowledgeable and pointed out fryer is shared.
Flounder stuffed with crab imperial was amazing! Server knew what gluten is and menu is coded with what is GF. :)
Average food, more expensive than $$. Items identified as GF. Knowledgable staff.
Just had a fabulous meal here! Many items labeled GF, and staff was very knowledgeable. Although there are some fried items listed as GF, they do NOT have a dedicated fryer, so celiac's beware.
