This is a neat stop if you're in downtown Winston-Salem. They make the chocolate in house. You can walk down the hall and look into the factory to watch the chocolate being made. They also have samples set up for you to taste.

They do offer a variety of GF options. Unfortunately, if you're very sensitive, this would be a no go. They prepare everything in the same factory, so cross contamination is very possible. They do not have separate kitchen supply dedicated for GF cooking.

I had a simple peanut butter fudge chocolate truffle. It was very good and did not make me sick (Celiac).

I research my GF options in Winston-Salem ahead of time, and was looking forward to my visit. I received a friendly welcome when I arrived, and was told that I could have almost everything they had on display.....I was absolutely thrilled! As I decided how many boxes of goodies I was going to order (I'm not used to choices!!) The lady helping me followed up her GF info with "well....I guess it depends on how sensitive you are." I hate when people say that. GF should be GF...period. But, regardless... she explained that the kitchen also baked things containing regular flour. When I gave her the opportunity to explain how careful they were...basically putting the words in her mouth...she said "well...you know that flour stays in the air, and then covers everything."

Disheartened, she directed me towards the gelato, saying that was a safe option....following it with "well, actually I'm not really sure...I guess I shouldn't tell people it's GF, should I?" (Umm NO!)

I left with 2 chocolate bars...that cost me $10. The chocolate was good. Not $10 good. I will not return. That place is a disaster in the making for someone who doesn't know to question their options. Very disappointing.

Excellent! GF and Nut free are clearly labeled. I come here often and always find GF brownies and macaroons. They also have GF cookie baskets during holidays which could make a nice gift! Great coffee also.
