Review of Boathouse at Breach Inlet

Upon arriving , I started to ask the hostess if I had to worry about CC , (even though some of the items on the menu may be marked Glutenfree , but that doesn't mean the support staff is educated in gluten cross contamination prevention) I was cut off & told by the hostess oh yes , we know what we are doing in that regard . Hmmm , I am thinking - ok - fine . As we looked thru the menu I was at first disappointed that the restaurant didn't go that extra mile for Glutenfree folks - as in providing Glutenfree rolls ( the waiter's explanation was "we don't make our own breads" - ummmm, & that is supposed to explain what ? Burton's doesn't make their own Glutenfree rolls & breads - two nights ago I had gotten a lovely warm GF udi's whole grain roll there with herbed butter ) I didn't bother to explain that . But I became more mollified when the meal presented to me was quite delicious. However on the way home , i started feeling some rumbling in my tumbly, & by the time we got back to the beach house & got changed , I had developed a headache on my run to the bathroom . Sigh. Should I call the hostess to inform her they are NOT well educated in preventing gluten cross contamination ? Just won't go there ever again . If you are medically Glutenfree , just go to Burtons .
