Great options! Knowledgeable staff
Overall the food was okay, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth $28 between two people. The corn grits could’ve used salt and the amount of food was pretty minimal. While it is certainly gluten-free friendly, the experience could have been better.
Oh man. This place has it all. Great food. Outdoor fire pit where you can drink a gf beer, and celiac safe. Are here once the last time we were in town and will definitely come back!
Good food, cute location, definitely safe for gluten free.
Amazing food, most of it gluten free. I have celiac disease and am very sensitive, and I've never had a problem here. They also carry GF beer and cider in addition to wine and sangria.
Delicious food! Very knowledgeable staff. Everything except for 2 items are GF! Celiacs dream restaurant! I ordered the Curry Chicken bowl. Was good to go and felt great after eating it! Very filling and yummy!
Terrific food! Be sure to tell them you're avoiding gluten for medical reasons. There is hidden gluten in the salad (fried wonton bits).
excellent food. great for celiacs.
Ate there yesterday and no reaction. :) I had the pork and egg bowl with a side of yuca. Just as delicious as the St. Paul location. My dining companion had the cornbread and the waitress kept that away from everything else. I just wish I had left room for the butterscotch pudding!
Almost everything on the menu is gluten free besides the corn bread and the sandwich bread. It feels good to just be able to go somewhere and not necessarily have to go into my life story. The food is delicious and served so fast! A wonderful place to go if you're starving. However, I do like the grand avenue location better as it's bigger, they have more menu options: like mashed potatoes! And they have homemade soda which is so delicious I always crave it.
Everything is GF except cornbread and sandwich bread. Food is excellent and waitress was helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend the pulled pork bowl.
Food is consistently amazing and safe to eat.
Love love love this place!!
Can't have cornbread or bread on sandwiches, everything including desserts were all gf and amazing! We even ordered more food to go to eat later.
Food was exceptional! Nearly everything is gluten free, except for breads and grits. Black beans and yellow rice were delicious and the chicken was so flavorful! Grateful they had a dedicated fryer because the yuca fries were killer!
AWESOME!!! Chorizo potato chilaquiles are amazing!
This was my favorite restaurant long before being diagnosed with celiac. So I was pretty thrilled to find their menu to be predominantly gluten free. The servers are great...very knowledgable, and very helpful. And, of course, the food is amazing. Brasa is the ultimate in comfort food for celiacs.
Great food, knowledgeable staff, good prices, great venue. This was the best restaurant I went to in my travels in Minneapolis.
Very celiac friendly and delicious food. I am giving it 4 stars because out of five times eating there so far, I am fairly sure I was glutened by something this last time. My family and I all shared foods except I had the rice with pigeon peas and sofrito. I am *guessing* it was the peas. I will certainly eat there again and will probably just avoid that dish. It is also possible that I am the most sensitive celiac in our family - our son was fine - or that I have trouble with that particular pea (same as dhal in Indian food). So just a heads up, I _highly_ recommend this restaurant, let them know you're celiac, and take my story as you wish. Cheers!
Amazing food! Only a handful of items have gluten and they're extra cautious if you mention you have Celiac disease.
Fantastic!! I went this weekend with a few friends and we split a handful of dishes and are family style and it was so fun, the food was delicious and I felt great after eating here! I SO appreciate their dedicated gluten free kitchen, that always makes such a huge difference, and makes me feel so well cared for and valued as a customer.
This place was amazing!! I will never worry about getting sick if I eat here. All the food is fantastic :)
Omg!!! Amazing food! Real food. Very casual atmosphere, friendly staff, great service.
Amazing. Every time. The food is amazing and the service is great. Highly recommended in my family
Amazing! I love that my Celiac daughter can eat practically anything from the menu without worrying that she will get sick! Great flavors and awesome choices!
Almost everything is GF! Even the cookies which are amazing!
Great food, great service. I dine here all the time and I have NEVER been ill. This is the first place to stop when you need a gluten free meal that the entire family would enjoy!
Good food! GF! Never had any issues. :)
Awesome food and very minimal risk of cross contamination since only a few items (the breads) contain gluten!
There are only a few items on the menu that are not gluten free! And everything tastes so amazing. Brasa is a big hit whenever family comes into town.
lots of GREAT gluten free options....some of the best food in Minneapolis.
Great food and lots of gluten free options!
I have been to the Mpls location and finally made it to St. Paul. Everything except the sandwiches and corn bread are GF. Makes it easy to order. They also have a selection of GF ciders and beer. Indoor and outdoor seating. If it is nice out, they will roll the doors open.
I am a very sensitive celiac. I eat at the Minneapolis brasa 3-4x per week. It is very safe, and I’ve never had a problem. I also have a Nima sensor, like one of the people below. It isn’t totally reliable as it sometimes has false positives— look up the gluten free watchdog and several other online studies.
It pains me to have to downgrade my previous five star review, but tonight I took my Nima sensor and my dish came back Gluten Found (I told them I have CD and to put an allergy alert on my order). The staff offered to make me another dish; their response was that they are careful but no further explanation/details. I'm celiac and do not plan to go back - the CC risk seems too high. I wish they would go 100% GF!
I really didn't want to leave this review, but I feel I owe it to fellow Celiacs. Server was knowledgeable and confident about GF options, so I'm still giving 2 stars. But my plate not only had an errant piece of macaroni on it, but I found a second piece that had clearly been cooked in with the black beans, causing cross-contamination to the entire pot of beans. I didn't find it until after eating some beans, causing me to have a pretty nasty upset stomach ache on my vacation. The server and manager tried SO HARD to make it up to us...they were lovely and truly felt horrible. But it was too late and there was nothing to be done. So 2 stars for service but beware a kitchen that clearly has cross-contamination issues.
My favorite place to eat when visiting the Twin Cities. There are few things on the menu that I can't eat. Tried to pulled chicken this time and it was unbelievable. Gravy in a restaurant. That never happens. And I could eat my weight in yucca fries with the dipping sauce. Love it
So delicious! I love the beef and the catfish. I ordered a variety with non-celiac friends. The catfish came with mac and cheese. The mac had spilled over the side of the portion dish and was touching the catfish. The server apologized and brought a new piece of fish for me. I felt fine after this meal. I hope they explore a gf option to replace the mac and cheese. It's not that hard to do.
What a pleasant experience....came to try out the catfish and yucca. So good! A vast array of unique refreshment options, including soda made on location. Erin is an exceptional server who handled all my queries and gave spot on suggestions. A definite repeat...
