Brasa is quickly becoming a favorite place for my husband and I to go to for yummy food in St. Paul! The menu has great variety and the green sauce that comes on the side is SO GOOD! Almost the entire menu is gluten free and what isn't GF is clearly stated on the menu. There are also multiple options for ordering to accomodate different group sizes and tastes. Brasa is great for a single meal as well as ordering family style!

My go to gluten free restaurant! There are only 3 things containing gluten on the menu, so it's the kind of place where you can eat safely AND your non-celiac friends can also enjoy the offerings. Delicious comfort food, knowledgeable staff. Have eaten here a dozen times and have never gotten sick
I was introduced to the restaurant by a former employee who raved about the restaurant's ethics: Insurance, 401k with company match, profit sharing, paid time off, etc. So I feel good about supporting the business, and good about the food!

I didn't feel comfortable eating here. They looked up whether my order was gluten free out a book. They had no idea what cross contamination was.

Very safe for celiacs! Everything is gluten free except the cornbread, sandwich rolls, and mac & cheese. No cross contamination in the fryer because everything fried is gluten-free. This is my go to restaurant. Love the fried crispy non-greasy catfish and all the rices.

Just the best. Everything here is gluten free and it’s all so good. They have many different menus based on allergens you just have to ask.

Almost the whole menu is gluten free and super delicious! My friend and I shared the chilaquiles and the fried fish with candied yams, and both were delicious!

The food was amazing! Everything I wanted to eat was gluten free. I had the chicken chilaquiles bowl and it was delicious! They delivered my meal as “celiac gluten free chicken chilaquiles” confirming they had seen the note on my online order. Highly recommend!

I have been eating here for years, they are my favorite gluten free option when going out. Everything on the menu is gluten free except for the breads, the Mac and cheese, and a couple desserts. Have never been sick!!

I’ve eaten here like 20+ times and never gotten sick (celiac). It’s my go to restaurant. Fryer is GF. They have good vegetarian/vegan options as well.
I’d recommend the curry bowl or the rotisserie chicken with black beans and yellow rice. Also, definitely try the fried yuca.

Went here for our anniversary. Ok food. Decent service. Told them I had celiac disease and they said there would be absolutely no problem, by two people that worked there. Well there was. Completely ruined the next two days, was sick the entire time. Sent a message to the business to tell them what happened, they read the message teo hours later. Five days later, still no response. Very disappointing.

Great food, but is pretty salty
Yes
Almost evrerything on the menu was gluten free. Took my allergy very seriously, and the food was amazing. I had the chicken
Yes
Food was ok. Tested safe with the Nima tester. Might go back if I was in the area and hungry... otherwise I would drive somewhere else.

Brasa does a great job, I do emphasize I have celiac and then I don’t react. The few times I haven’t clarified I have celiac, I have reacted. We had them cater our rehearsal dinner this summer and they went above and beyond. Love making the trip over to St. Paul for this delicious food!

I have been to the Mpls location and finally made it to St. Paul. Everything except the sandwiches and corn bread are GF. Makes it easy to order. They also have a selection of GF ciders and beer. Indoor and outdoor seating. If it is nice out, they will roll the doors open.
Yes
What an amazing dinner! The fried cassava was amazing. The yellow curry equally so. The chocolate bar for dessert was delicious.
Great good, lots of choices for celiac
I am a very sensitive celiac. I eat at the Minneapolis brasa 3-4x per week. It is very safe, and I’ve never had a problem. I also have a Nima sensor, like one of the people below. It isn’t totally reliable as it sometimes has false positives— look up the gluten free watchdog and several other online studies.
Yes
Delicious BUT ordered a pulled pork and egg bowl, confirmed with the server it was gluten free, ordered it without the fried onions because they made me nervous even though I was reassured they were gluten free. Had a reaction.
No
Knowledgeable waitress. I said I had celiac and she immediately pointed out what I couldn’t have on the menu, since it’s not a separate GF menu. The Chorizo Potato dish was great. Kids loved it too!

Amazing food, most of it gluten free. I have celiac disease and am very sensitive, and I've never had a problem here. They also carry GF beer and cider in addition to wine and sangria.
Yes
I used my Nima gluten tester and the food tested positive for gluten 2 times in a row! Don't eat here if you're a celiac!!!
Very good food!!! No issues at all!!! Would recommend to any celiac!

It pains me to have to downgrade my previous five star review, but tonight I took my Nima sensor and my dish came back Gluten Found (I told them I have CD and to put an allergy alert on my order). The staff offered to make me another dish; their response was that they are careful but no further explanation/details. I'm celiac and do not plan to go back - the CC risk seems too high. I wish they would go 100% GF!

So many delicious GF options hard to choose! The staff is also very knowledgeable and really friendly. Our new must go to place!
Yes
Had a great pork and egg bowl here, no upset tummy! I am very sensitive, so it was nice to have this.
Very fresh local and organic food. All items but like 4 are gluten free including dessert. Fast and friendly service. Will definitely go back.

I really didn't want to leave this review, but I feel I owe it to fellow Celiacs. Server was knowledgeable and confident about GF options, so I'm still giving 2 stars. But my plate not only had an errant piece of macaroni on it, but I found a second piece that had clearly been cooked in with the black beans, causing cross-contamination to the entire pot of beans. I didn't find it until after eating some beans, causing me to have a pretty nasty upset stomach ache on my vacation. The server and manager tried SO HARD to make it up to us...they were lovely and truly felt horrible. But it was too late and there was nothing to be done. So 2 stars for service but beware a kitchen that clearly has cross-contamination issues.

Really love this place. The food is simple but really good and it is safe for Celiac folks.
Yes
Our waitress knew the non-GF items well--most items are GF. Great taste and service. We will definitely come back. We had the BBQ beef and the roasted pork plates. Black beans and rice, and red beans and rice were exceptionally flavorful.
I love going here! Almost everything on the menu is GF

My favorite place to eat when visiting the Twin Cities. There are few things on the menu that I can't eat. Tried to pulled chicken this time and it was unbelievable. Gravy in a restaurant. That never happens. And I could eat my weight in yucca fries with the dipping sauce. Love it
Yes
Excellent food. Nice to be able to have delicious fried fish with gluten allergy. Highly recommend.
It was awesome to be told that the list of what is not gluten free is less than what is, and the food was wonderful!
Great food. Great price! This is always a safe option!
Yes
Great food and very little gluten items. I've ordered here for work and eaten in the restaurant a couple times. They are very conscientious about gluten safety and the masa cakes are amazing!
So delicious! I love the beef and the catfish. I ordered a variety with non-celiac friends. The catfish came with mac and cheese. The mac had spilled over the side of the portion dish and was touching the catfish. The server apologized and brought a new piece of fish for me. I felt fine after this meal. I hope they explore a gf option to replace the mac and cheese. It's not that hard to do.
Yes
Wonderful service, amazing food. The menu indicates the items that contain gluten, nearly everything is GF! I didn't know how to behave having the roles reversed on my friends.

This is absolutely our top restaurant for gluten free and nut free eating. It is the one place we can go and eat a full meal, including dessert without the anxiety about the double nut/wheat allergy our son has.
Yes
Everything is delicious! All gluten-free except for mac & cheese, cornbread, and rolls. This is my go-to restaurant because it is safe to eat with celiac disease.

Extremely fast service, friendly staff. Everything is gluten free but the cornbread, buns, and pasta (there is a gluten option). The chocolate cake isn’t gluten free but the other desserts are. Love being in an upbeat place that is very knowledgeable with food allergies and preferences!
The fried fish was DIVINE! With a gluten allergy you don’t get to have fried fish a lot, such a treat!

One of my go-to safe options in the Twin Cities! We typically get takeout but have always had a great experience dining in as well. Nearly everything on the menu is gluten free and the staff are always helpful in terms of kitchen precautions (changing gloves, etc) when asked. The butterscotch pudding is amazing!!

We generally order takeout. Family feast rotisserie chicken with rice and beans, salad, corn chips, and add yucca fries. Have been doing this since before my daughter was diagnosed. We continue to do this. The sauces are all great. Supposedly the only non GF item on the menu is cornbread, but I have not confirmed beyond our typical order.
