The waiter talked to the chef on our behalf and specifically advised us on which menu items were safe, including avoiding fried foods for the risk of cross contamination. We went for the arepas which are Celiac safe. We can vouch for the Llanera and vegetarian. Both were delicious, as was the risotto.

We have been in San Juan for 8 days and this was one of the best places we ate. Food was fantastic, fresh and flavorful. Service was outstanding. We have a celiac that needs to eat gluten free. Many of the dishes are naturally gluten free. Waitstaff checked with the chef on everything we ordered to make sure it was safe. This will be our first stop on our next visit. We had Reina Pepiada, (Chicken arepas)Pork Rack Asado (pork cutlet) Mashed Yuca, risotto and Ensalada Del Chef (Chef salad). Pictures below. Everything was fantastic, especially the chicken arepa. Great atmosphere with great wine selection and bar. There was confusion in previous reviews where they are located. They started as a food truck. This is there sit down location with a bar at 670 Ave Juan Ponce de Leon, San Juan. Short Uber from the resorts on Condado Beach or Old San Juan. They also have the food truck location somewhere in San Juan.

My partner and I recently got into arepas and this was on our list of places to check out.
We went back four times during our 7-day trip and I was delighted to find say that the owner of the store remembered and welcomed us warmly each time.
Almost everything is GF on the menu, the only misses are maybe toast on the brunch menu. Their website was not super helpful, but the wait staff is!
Highly recommend the Reina Papiada as a Cachapa!

Went there last night and everything was fresh and delicious! All of the arepes are gluten free. When my gluten eating husband ordered an empanada, the server warned that it was fried in the same oil with gluten. Highly recommend! Double check the address, it was correct on Google maps, but not on Uber. It was worth the extra driving around!

Fantastic little shop! But note - they have moved locations as of at least 7/4/23. Rather than in a food truck lot (which was super cute) they are in a location with a bunch of other hipster restaurants in shipping containers at Calle Oneill, San Juan - Hato Rey, San Juan, 00918, Puerto Rico
In google maps in San Juan, PR you can search for budare, and this location should come up.
Other than that - Very knowledgeable, conscientious, and kind about explaining what is and isn’t GF as well as their processes. Oh, and great food!

Cute food truck at Lote 23! Everything is GF and there’s a GF sign on the menu. Felt very comfortable eating here and didn’t get sick. Nice environment where the people you’re eating with can order from different food trucks! Would definitely recommend, food was great!

Very safe. The only gluten is in the tequeños, which are fried. They aren’t made on the spot, so no flour flying around to contaminate the rest (also most places making these cook them from frozen, so even less of a risk of crumbs anywhere). Steer clear of the frier and all good.

I had a really delicious arepe here. I got Uber eats, so I can’t speak to the staff or restaurant itself, but the arepes are gf and tasty. No symptoms at all as of yet.
