No GF menu, but our waiter knew about Celiac and was knowledgeable. He double-checked with the chef to confirm our daughter's order was ok. Ceasar Salas no croutons and GF pasta were delicious! No issues at all. When he brought us dessert (part of Restaurant Week),, he offered complimentary sorbet to her.
I really wanted to like this place. When checking in they noted my gluten-free request via reservation. After we sat down, there were no indicators on menu what was gluten-free. When server came to our table for order, I had to ask what was available as she didn’t seem to be aware I was gf. She basically shared what I couldn’t have (about 3 things) and pasta would be substituted with gf penne pasta, and all the salads could be modified gf. I preceded to ordered.. I was then told that wasn’t an option either. I ended up getting the “Chicken Rigatoni Alla Volka” with the gf penne pasta. Chicken was good, but overall it was disappointing due to the penne pasta tasting what I could buy in a box from store. I’m not celiac (I am intolerant), but I would be wary of coming here. If you’re looking for Italian food in the Venetian, I would recommend Matteo’s.
I’m not 100% sure but I think I was glutened here when I visited for dinner last week. (I may have been glutened by the mixed coffee cocktail I had across the hall beforehand though.) At Buddy V’s, I ordered the shrimp scampi with the GF penne, and thought everything was fine based on how well the server was answering my questions and double-checking with the kitchen (at one point even bringing the chef out to confirm the note on my ticket about my lactose-intolerance in addition to gluten-free), but it was a rough night. Not sure I’d go back since there are so many other safe places in the Venetian.
Super disappointed in my experience after hearing such good things. Only 2 things on the menu are designated as gf - a salad and the salmon. I alerted the waitor of having an allergy and asked if it was only the salmon or salad or if other options could be made gf. He said there's gf pasta and sea bass as another option. I asked if several dishes could be made with the gf pasta and he went back to 'no, only the salmon or salad.' Poor service and poor options.
We had dinner here and the server was super helpful and knowledgeable about what options could be made gluten free and cooking procedures as far as cross contamination.
I had GF shrimp fettuccine Alfredo (although the gf noodles aren’t fettuccine) and it was great.
The fryers are shared so I was bummed I couldn’t enjoy any fries.
Our wonderful server looked out for me and made sure I didn’t try any of the bread that’s brought as an appetizer for the table and was able to answer all my questions about the pasta being cooked in its own water, etc.
Edit to add: I got very sick, but am not sure if it was from possible gluten crumbs from the bread at the table or my own food. Super disappointed because the restaurant seemed to know what they were doing.
The food itself was very good. Great tomato soup and had the gluten free penne done with carbonara. Was very unimpressed with service and extent to which we felt celiac was treated seriously. The server seemed really put out and answered our questions about gluten free with one word answers. Left with us both a little worried we had been exposed
Went at lunch and was looked at like I was crazy. Was told penne was my only option. I asked if they could do a lettuce wrapped burger and they were confused. Great reviews on here surprise me. May have been because I was alone and seated at the bar. Didn't get sick but wasn't worth the price for a plain burger.
Great GF options. All pastas can be made gluten free and are delicious! I had the Chicken Picatta with a side of GF penne - Amazing! Staff was very knowledgeable and went out of their way to make sure I understood all of my options. It’s restaurants like this that allow GF dining out to be enjoyable. Thank you Buddy V’s - excellent job!
Really great service and chicken a la vodka was delicious!!! Waiter confirmed they take extra steps, do reuse water, etc. was not sick after. As someone with Celiac, I felt safe.
I have celiac and this place was great for pasta options!
I have celiac and was able to eat an appetizer, entree, and dessert here. This is the cake boss's restaurant from TLC. Staff was very knowledgeable and assured me my food would be cooked in a different area. I had tomato basil soup, spaghetti bolognese, and raspberry sorbet. All exceptional! I was disappointed that I could not have one of the cake boss's pastries but this was the next best thing!
