Brand new, here on opening week and I’m so impressed. Staff was courteous and kind. Gluten free Detroit style pizza was delicious and cooked perfectly with crunchy browned cheesy edges and soft pillowy gluten free thick pizza crust. Love that now there is a location close to home!
Visited the Novi location recently. Buddy's is THE best pizza but they did a fantastic job trying their best to recreate their famous deep dish, Gluten Free style. We used our Nima Tester to confirm our GF pie was in fact GF. It made our day to say the least. Our server was very thorough, confirming everything in our order and bringing out the GF food separately. So eat with confidence! Also, their salads are fabulous (minus the croutons of course)!
So good!! I got delivery and my pizza came uncut to ensure that there would be no cross contamination!
Just had a great pizza! I asked all the right questions about Gluten Free handling and felt very safe. That being said, I’m not as sensitive as soon people with celiac. We also had a hot fudge Sunday for dessert. They use sanders hot fudge topping & Hudsonville Ice Cream which are both Gluten Free. They made ours with a clean scoop from fresh ice cream stock. We will be back!
Awesome GF pizza. They also have Daiya non dairy cheese. Be aware that there is buttermilk in the crust. Have eaten here about 50 times and never had an issue with gluten.
I love their gluten free pizza. Thick pan pizza rather than the thin crust kind I get everywhere else. It’s a drive to get to for me but well worth it. Maybe next time I should get two!!! And I’ve never had a problem eating their gf pizza that’s what really counts.
Celiac friendly! Separate prep area and they bring your pizza on tin foil on a plate so it doesn’t touch the plate, they also don’t cut the pizza for you, they leave it uncut and give you a pizza cutter to do it yourself. Very low risk of cross contamination
Best GF pizza I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Very accommodating and careful about allergies / Celiac. Made pizza wrong first time but didn’t even bring it out because they caught it. Offered me an antipasto salad in the meantime which was great also.
Unfortunately, we weren’t impressed with the crust. It is tapioca based. we think, and was very doughy. We asked for it to be cooked more and it helped a tiny bit, but it still wouldn’t be pizza we would come back for. The waitress said that a new kitchen manager took away the par baking step. Prior to this the gf pizza was better. We are giving the 2 stars solely for the waitress, who was very knowledgeable.
I really liked their square pizza. I was on a business trip, and I so wanted to take the leftovers home with me...but alas, no fridge in my hotel room. The waitstaff is knowledgeable. They use separate ingredients for the pizza and cook it on it's own pan/foil -- so it doesn't touch the inside of the oven. They had a nice Chianti also...really nice, cheap meal.
I give them an A for effort. The pizza is pretty tasty, but the gluten free crust is much too bready. It doesn’t really strike me as a pizza crust. I liked the original Buddy’s crust back when I could eat it. I’d come back, but I can’t rave about it.
Have a GF menu. I got a GF pizza and was not impressed. I've heard they had great GF pizza so maybe mine was just an exception but it wasn't at all crispy on the bottom, sort of soggy and left my stomach feeling a bit unsettled. It's worth a try if you want pizza as most reviews rave. I prefer the crust to be a bit more done. Was served on a tray covered in foil and with my own pizza cutter.
