I feel terrible updating my review but I have now been glutened three out of the nine times I have eaten there since they opened in the spring (and I was away all summer). The first time I blamed it on my bringing in a gluten free cake to celebrate a birthday and not sure if there was cross contamination when they took it to the kitchen. The other two times I only ate their food. All three times were on a Saturday night (two times in November). Of all my visits, I have only had one successful Saturday night. My last visit the General Manager oversaw some of my food preparations and I know he really wanted the visit to go well as did I. The body knows when it’s been glutened so as much as I would like to think it was something else, it wasn’t. At this point I believe the Manager thinks I must have other issues which is causing the problems. The last week it happened I had eaten out at two other restaurants and a friend’s house with no ill effects. I just feel so bad as I considered Burton’s to be my safe place and I always recommended it to others.

ORIGINAL REVIEW I have eaten here several times since they opened. It is so comforting to know how seriously they take gluten free and that they have good protocol to provide a safe meal. The food is excellent. They have a great gluten free focaccia with herb butter to start off the meal. I love the calamari and had a delicious lobster risotto. Their chicken risotto is also quite good as are their burgers and steaks. Everything is good and if you really want to indulge the seven layer chocolate cake is worth the calories. I am so happy they have this new location. Now if I could only get them to expand to the Cape (Falmouth please).
