Burton’s is always a safe place with great food! We had the cheesesteak spring rolls and general tsos cauliflower for appetizers, and the spring rolls came with gf onion rings! I hadn’t had an onion ring in years, they were delicious. The burgers are excellent, and the Mediterranean chicken risotto is always a hit. The waiter was very kind and knowledgeable about gluten free food prep.

This place was incredible! I ordered gluten free focaccia and it was one of the best things I have ever had in my life. The waiter was super aware of the allergy and they have an entirely gluten free menu and dedicated kitchen. I also got cauliflower and fried calamari which I can’t eat anywhere and it was incredible. The best part was the 5 layer chocolate cake. Great service and amazon food !
— editing to add- I spoke with the manager & discovered we were served regular pasta instead of GF pasta. I would give them ZERO stars for safety — Got glutened here. So sad since they have good reviews for being good for GF. Food tasted good but my son was VERY sick afterwards. — Looking at other reviews on Facebook & online- this Framingham location of Burtons seems to have had mistakes with other families as well. — learned after the fact- SQUARE plates are supposed to be used at Burtons vs round, to indicate GF/allergy (we were served on round plates) — also learned that GF pasta is a different shape than regular pasta to help them distinguish. (I believe bow tie is regular and twist is GF) - I advise asking manager & wait-staff protocols before you order, so that you have a way to “check” when it comes out- shape/color of plate, & shape of pasta, etc.
Burton’s is very busy for dinner but it was worth the wait. They have a separate gf menu and the staff is very knowledgeable. Our waitress Brianne knew exactly what we needed and assured us that our food was prepared with care. The steak was delicious, as was the spinach/artichoke dip and the chicken and artichoke risotto. We took our desserts to go and they were labeled for safety.
First time trying the GF pasta dish here! It was very good. I think the dish would be okay without the GF bun that was toasted as replacement for garlic bread. If it included the garlic butter used for the focaccia bread service I think it would have been a bit better.
My most recent visit was great. At check in I asked for their separate gluten free menu. My waiter asked about allergies right away so I felt confident. Delicious cauliflower appetizer which so much flavor! My main course was the harvest bowl salad with grilled salmon. It was confirmed verbally with me upon receiving my mail it was in fact gluten free.
Burton’s is a really good place to go if gluten free. They have loads of options and nothing there is cooked with gluten based flours. I feel really safe and their stuff is super yummy!
I am not entirely sure why- I ordered from gluten free menu. The last 2 out of 3 times I have ordered anything that was fried i.e French fries or chicken wings, I have been sick with symptoms for days after. I am usually very careful about ordering safer foods, such as plain meat and vegetable cooked on their own when eating out. I was more relaxed here with the positive history and advertising of GF. The one time I ordered safely here, I was not sick.
Food was really good. Portions were huge. Great vegan & gluten free menu!!
Just had dinner at Burton’s and it was perfect!!!! Buffalo chicken dip, salmon piccata with penne and Creme brûlée was so delicious. The waitress and manager were phenomenal also. Definitely recommend checking it out :)
I was made very sick on m visit here. The manager did not bring my food out until after a mistake had been made, luckily icaught the mistake, but u was still made sick from the "safe" meal. It is such a shame about this location because all of the other locations around the country are amazing for gluten free
The staff is poorly trained on gluten free - can't even identify the difference between gluten free bread and normal and instead of going to check just assured me I'd was GF when in fact it wasn't
I feel terrible updating my review but I have now been glutened three out of the nine times I have eaten there since they opened in the spring (and I was away all summer). The first time I blamed it on my bringing in a gluten free cake to celebrate a birthday and not sure if there was cross contamination when they took it to the kitchen. The other two times I only ate their food. All three times were on a Saturday night (two times in November). Of all my visits, I have only had one successful Saturday night. My last visit the General Manager oversaw some of my food preparations and I know he really wanted the visit to go well as did I. The body knows when it’s been glutened so as much as I would like to think it was something else, it wasn’t. At this point I believe the Manager thinks I must have other issues which is causing the problems. The last week it happened I had eaten out at two other restaurants and a friend’s house with no ill effects. I just feel so bad as I considered Burton’s to be my safe place and I always recommended it to others.
ORIGINAL REVIEW
I have eaten here several times since they opened. It is so comforting to know how seriously they take gluten free and that they have good protocol to provide a safe meal. The food is excellent. They have a great gluten free focaccia with herb butter to start off the meal. I love the calamari and had a delicious lobster risotto. Their chicken risotto is also quite good as are their burgers and steaks. Everything is good and if you really want to indulge the seven layer chocolate cake is worth the calories. I am so happy they have this new location. Now if I could only get them to expand to the Cape (Falmouth please).
I love all the other Burton's locations but had an awful experience here. My sandwich arrived on a square plate, brought out by my server (not the manager as is typical at other locations). The bread looked different so I asked, are you sure this is gluten free? She looked down at my food and responded confidently, yep, gluten free! I said, I've ordered this a bunch of times and it's never looked like this, do you mind double checking? So she did, turns out it was not gluten free! Had I never been to Burton's before I would have eaten it. But that's not where the horror story ends. They brought me out a new sandwich and I asked if they made a completely new sandwich or if they moved the items from the old to the new bread and they assured me it was a new sandwich. Well the chicken was cold and I was SO SICK the days following that I am confident it was not a new sandwich. Throughout all of this, I didn't see a manager until the end of the meal (he brought out a third sandwich because the chicken was cold in the second but the damage was already done at this point). Very disappointed because Burton's is a chain I have otherwise always been comfortable eating at.
Very impressive! The waiter asked before we ordered if we had any allergies. They were able accommodate gf, df and soy no problem. They have items labeled Paleo too. Everything tasted great and was inventive. Everyone with me enjoyed their food.
The staff was very knowledgeable about gluten allergy. The hostess asked if we needed a gluten free menu before we were even seated. The food was brought out of the kitchen by managers
We have eaten here no less than 10 times and each time it’s gotten more and more dangerous for gluten allergies/ celiac. Last week, was served a dessert that was ordered as cheesecake. Arrived as Key Lime Pie and was piping hot. It had not been chilled and was gluten. The manager assured me it was not key lime but my husband said key lime so- who knows. This week, our server did not use the hand held device and chose to remember our 4 top order. I know the gf food comes on a square plate so when my food came was on a round plate and was a regular gluten bun I was in shock. Her attitude was abundantly clear she didn’t care so I spoke to the manager who was responsive and generous. However, bc I have been so many times I knew their protocol. If I had not, I would have been very sick. The food is good, but their servers education could use a touch up. Perhaps they management should deliver all gluten free meals. Be careful and don’t trust until you verify. Also the brunch donut holes are amazing!!
Hi Tisha, thank you so much for dining with us! We are disappointed to hear that your experiences have been inconsistent. Your feedback is essential in helping us make sure we are delivering on our promise to provide a safe place for celiac diners. If you could please reach out to us at [email protected] we’d love to speak with you further, and hope to make things right for your next visit.
Fantastic meal!! I wish I had found this restaurant sooner, I would have visited more than once! Separate gluten free menu. Separate fryer. We had the firecracker shrimp to start, the breading was amazing!! For dinner I had the General Tso Bowl, I swapped the chicken for grilled salmon, delish!! And for dessert, the seven layer chocolate cake. So, so good!! I should have taken pics!! A must visit if you’re in Boca or nearby!
