We stopped for a coffee and ended up trying the GF brownie and turkey chili. It was so good we went back for breakfast the next morning. Food and atmosphere are great. GF bread was very dense but the GF pumpkin loaf was top notch! They were careful and noted allergy. I would definitely go back.
Tried the Public Greens Power Bowl on Thursday and absolutely loved it. I added the avocado and asked to remove the mushrooms. Mushrooms were mixed in but big enough for me to eat around them, and not a ton so I didn’t feel wasteful. This is one of only a few restaurants downtown Indy that I trust to manage my allergy properly. I went back Friday to get the Omelette You Can’t Refuse with Native GF bread. Servers are always knowledgeable and attentive to my allergy and the food comes out quick and marked.
Wonderful place with great gluten free and dairy free options!
I loved this restaurant! The staff seemed very knowledgeable about celiac disease and cross contact. I got the waffles from a separate waffle iron- no notes. I also got an omelette with a side of potatoes (baked) and they gave me gluten free bread as well! It was such a treat to have so many GF options that were all delicious.
Me and my husband shared a make your own Omelette and a dairy free oat milk mocha. For starters, the mocha was one of the tastiest coffees we have ever had. It tasted like hot chocolate! Second, the omelette was ensured to be cooked with their cooking spray instead of butter, and they gave us gluten free toast without butter which was delicious as well. They even cut the omelette in half for us and presented it so beautifully when we said we were just going to share. Everything was delicious!
I only had one visit there and that was a sit-in for lunch. The place was busy so I took a seat at the bar. GF items were marked on the menu, though there wasn’t a lot of GF marked items for lunch. Mostly they were salads. Service was quick at the bar and the waiter was knowledgeable about celiac without explanation. Prices were somewhat high, but, as an out-of-towner, I found most everything was relatively high priced in Indianapolis. Maybe I don’t get out much… As for safety, cross contamination is possible if not probably likely. I used two GliadinX capsules with every meal I ate in the city (except one where a hotel restaurant I had to eat at had no GF options) including this one, even after reading all the reviews. I also took out another salad with meat for lunch the next day and the two meals came to just over $40.
Patachou is a staple reliable gf df spot - got the make your own omelette and they flag everything for allergies! Gf toast is from a local gf allergen free bakery - so yummy! Server went and double checked that the oat milk was certified gf as well! LOVE me some patchooochie.
Ordered an egg white omelette which came with a side of arugula and gluten free toast. Server was knowledgeable about gluten free (volunteered he would alert the kitchen), food was flagged with an allergy stick, and was overall delicious (gf bread was some of the best I’ve ever had!). 100% would return again.
Café Patachou is a great option for anyone with food allergies. The cafe has an allergy menu available upon request. It also offers oat milk for coffee. I had the coconut curry chicken and it was wonderful.
I’ve visited several times for breakfast and lunch & each time the service and food is awesome! Personal favorites are broken yolk, yogurt and granola with fruit, turkey sandwich. The gf sourdough bread is out of this world. The pastries are also a yummy. A gem of a gf find!
Came during a busy day and was assured by the server that they could prepare celiac safe food. Ordered an egg sandwich on GF bread with a side of potatoes and was absolutely glutened. Food had the red flags of safety, but I felt like garbage for hours. Coffee was okay. Not sure I would go back.
So many options here and staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. GF toast in separate toaster (and it was delicious), GF waffles and many other options.
I absolutely loved this place! I got the smoked salmon bagel on gluten free sourdough bread and I was very pleasantly surprised with the bread. I also got the orange cranberry bread and it was absolutely one of the best gluten free desserts I have had. It was very moist and it wasn’t crumbly at all. This is probably the best breakfast place I have been to.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and explained what could be substituted for gf dishes. Many to choose from. Food came out with a little red flag on a tooth pick, signifying food allergy. The waiter asked if there were other allergies to be aware of. Dedicated fryer for potato fries. Sour dough bread was delicious.
***Side note, make sure you pay for parking before you leave the lot. $5 to park all day, but $20 if you fail to do so. The lot is across the street.
