On Wednesday and Friday, choice is only buffet. They offered to see if a piece of grilled chicken and a salad could be made but their knowledge level of gluten free was not comforting. For someone with Celiacs, I could not take the chance. Maybe it is better other days.
Lots of delicious options - never been sick here and great service! My favorite is the salad with strawberries.
Ample items on gluten free menu.
Several sides and entrees are identified as “can be made gluten free”. No separate GF menu. We ask for GF French fries. When our food was delivered, I confirmed with the staff that the french fries were gluten-free. They had the manager come to our table and explained that on this particular weekend (st Patrick’s day/SEC tournament) because of the volume, they did not have a designated fryer for gluten-free items. ?!?!?😬 I ask our server for rice because of what the manager told us. Our server seemed puzzled. She came back with the rice and explain she talk to the chef and was informed that what makes the fries not gluten-free is the seasoning; therefore to make them gluten-free, they omit the seasoning.😬 Apart from the gluten-free issues, the food was subpar. My husband ordered the ribeye which he compared to the quality of a Western Sizzlin steak. And it was lukewarm when it arrived to the table. Very disappointing.
Their GF options were great. Love their fries. We had wonderful service, and the manager reviewed the entire menu with me and offered suggestions. The manager also spoke directly to the kitchen about my food and delivered it to the table herself. Highly recommend! Their GF bun wasn’t the best, but everything else made up for it.
Food isn't fantastic, and choices on the menu are limited here. However the staff works really hard to make sure that the food you order is safe to eat. Made a mistake and ordered something that had an oil my husband couldn't eat, they immediately removed the plate without us even asking and helped him order something that was safe for all his allergies. We were able to eat lunch without him getting sick.
Totally unaware & educated about allergies. They don't have a separate gluten free menu and there are about half a dozen things marked as gluten free, no appetizers or desserts, barely any sides and drinks aren't marked. Our waiter was very kind and tried to be helpful with my order but the kitchen apparently was terrible. My steak was almost raw in the middle and I asked for med. well but the most ridiculous part was I asked for steamed broccoli with no butter because of a dairy allergy and they brought out raw broccoli with butter smeared all over the top, which our waiter and the kitchen didn't catch. Then someone in the kitchen brought out cooked broccoli, apologized, and explained that they "washed the butter off then steamed so it should be totally ok for you now"... gross. There was a bbq sauce thumb print on my plate (nothing I ordered had sauce) that I didn't see until half way through my meal and most of the bottom of my baked potato was covered in some kind of sauce - major cross contamination issue with this and the butter being washed off the broccoli, not to mention just gross. Also both my water and drink glass had good stock to the outside. For those in need of an allergy aware safe place this is not it. However my boyfriend who does not have any allergies said his meal was good.
We went here for brunch. If you Are gluten free your only options are eggs, grits and bacon. My husband and two sons really enjoyed their food. My food was really good too; it just came out in very small portions since they were all technically sides. Drinks were great. I had a spritz and you only need one to get your day going. The only reason I’m giving it four stars is due to service. We ordered an extra side of Mac and cheese and I ordered another side of grits that arrived at our table when we were paying our bill. It looked like a cool spot I’d want to go back to for drinks minus the kids.
Well if you are going for Ribs forget it. Their naturally gf sauce is produced in a facility that processes wheat. So I ordered their shrimp which was overcooked and rubbery. Could not have rice that went with shrimp so substituted a baked potato. They charged a dollar extra for a small amount of sour cream and chives.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable about how the foods were prepared, which were gluten free and which to avoid. The menu had astericks by items that could be prepared gluten free. My daughter and I split the prime rib, which was delicious! Nice atmosphere, pleasant dinner, delicious food!
GF menu. Celiac friendly, no cross contamination. Enjoyed shrimp skewers, mashed potatoes, baked apples, and coleslaw. Apples were the only seasoned and flavorful item. It was good for something hot and different, but probably won't be back. Slow service.
Gluten-free menu small but any restaurant that has one I appreciate. I ordered steak and it was very good and cooked to order. Side salad is mostly iceberg I wouldn't get that next time. I wish they had more sides to choose from I would gladly return. We had a great time a great service.
Spent a week in the Pigeon Forge area and used this app to help me find places to eat. Calhouns was worst meal I had during the trip. Limited GF options, staff seemed clueless, and I got the smallest, dryest, and possible the most expensive piece of grilled chicken ever.
Amazing! Service perfect, had everything we needed but weren't smothered! I had the lamb chops and garlic potatoes! Wonderful! Everyone with us enjoyed their food! Down side was they didn't have a gf beer! So many great choices now! Nice variety on gf menu!
separate GF menu, service was just alright. Menu says bacon is not GF, ordered loaded potato without the bacon, but they loaded it on my salad. Returned the salad, when it was brought back, they put the same salad dressing cup with bacon still on the side of it in the salad.
