Cartems Donuts

The gluten free chocolate and the gluten free vanilla donuts are very much a cupcake texture. Super sweet so good if you are looking for dessert.

Gorgeous looking donuts and I was thrilled to see such delicious looking GF options as well. I ordered two donuts and ate one on the spot and then one for dessert later. BIG MISTAKE. I got very sick from these donuts.

I called them the next day and asked about their gluten-free protocols and while they're baked and not fried, and the ingredients are GF, they're iced in the same area, using the same batch of icing and the same utensils as all the other donuts. These are definitely not celiac-safe. Gluten-Free Epicurean up at Kingsway and Fraser has killer donuts (the daily flavour changes all the time) that are 100% GF, as well as everything else they sell there.

I stopped by Cartems during a Vancouver trip, and they were just about to close early unexpectedly for installing a new floor. One of the employees saw my sad face at the window and graciously grabbed some gf donuts for me before they closed up shop! It made my day! :) so kind! The donuts themselves are more cake-style than yeast-style, and they were good, but not my favorite flavors. I’m not complaining though since I got them for free! I just may have picked other flavors for myself. Definitely worth a look if you’re in Vancouver!

i’ve eat here a few times and the donuts and flavors are delicious but the use shared equipment/ re use some icings for gluten free and gluten donuts. I’ve never had a reaction but I don’t frequent Cartems as I am sensitive to cross contamination. In the store they do use different tongs and store their GF donuts separately from their gluten donuts
