I had a counter seat right by the open kitchen. I watched as the owner/head chef told them to take the breaded fried onions off my steak that they accidentally put on and give me the steak. If she hadn’t made eye contact with me, I would have been served this. Additionally, they place bread on the grill with the other food. Food is delicious but I’ll be sick tonight for sure, and won’t be back.
We used to go here often. The GF pizza was like cardboard, but the homemade GF noodles were very good. (Both for a steep extra charge - had a waiter offer gf noodles and when the bill came there was an extra $15 for them!.) Then prices got higher, portions got smaller, and we had some not-so-great service experiences. We don't really go anymore. Still, nice ambiance and never had any issues with gluten.
I had heard good things about this place, specifically the owner and her dedication to having safe options for those with Celiac disease. I was hesitant though, I mean, this is an Italian restaurant where they make their own bread and pasta, not a place where I normally feel safe eating. But, I recently received a Nima gluten tester as s gift and can just test the food for safety. So we went today. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, and the food was amazing! I had the risotto of the day (mushroom with shrimp and salmon). So good! And everyone at the table really liked their food. Things like “that is the best tiramisu I have ever had” and “oh my god, they made that sausage here!?” were uttered. Super yummy and my meal, according to my Nima And my belly, was totally gluten free.
This place is amazing and we keep going back. The food is excellent, everything is made from scratch, and gluten-free options are marked on the menu. The staff is very knowledgeable and they ask if anyone has dietary restrictions before they take your order. I've never had any problems here and I've only had great meals.
