Excellent waitress knew what was gluten free. I had soup with an Octoberfest brat on a gf bun. We shared gf cheese cake and bought a gf scone to go. Great food, great service, great prices.
I have celiac and felt very safe eating here. I got the panko crusted halibut. Btw that is pan fried and not deep fried so no worries with the fryer. I would have had the fries too but the server checked on the fryer for me and they had already fried something in it that day. So I got a very nice fruit plate instead with slices of peach, fresh blueberries, strawberries, plums, cantaloupe and honey dew melon. My boys had the gf pancakes with eggs and bacon and they were awesome! My oldest has bad reactions to gluten and no problems so far. I will be coming back here for sure.
This place is amazing. My son was so thrilled to see such a huge selection of meals and deserts. The staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable. I especially love that there is not a surcharge for a gluten free meal! We were staying 30 miles away and came because of the positive reviews, so glad we did.
Really good, but busy! Great selection of GF food. My kids loved it and they loved the goodies we took home.
Didn't have a meal there, but we bought pastries to take with us. They were AMAZING! Awesome cookies and scones, and they had so many GF pies I couldn't decide what to get. Ended up with a lemon cheesecake kind of thing and it was so light and fluffy and delicious.
They definitely had plenty of gluten free options including panko-breaded halibut fish and chips which, along with the tartar sauce, were excellent. There was also a cod option for those and many dessert options for those who can have sugar. Staff is well-informed as well.
Several GF options. Staff appears to know about GF. Delicious fish and chips. My hubby and I each had it. Several cheese cake options. Chocolate pie and carrot cake. Even the boys were happy with the kids menu.
I ate here twice on my overnight trip. Knowledgeable staff. fantastic food. Good service. The pancakes were a dream and bacon was so tasty. Fish and chips were a little different. Not bad, but not like deep fried. Fries out of the shared fryer didn't give any of us 5 problems. They fry at a high enough temp and change their grease frequently enough that it wasn't an issue either time. That clam chowder, though. Oh my, the best I have had in a very long time. Creamy, rich fresh clams. It was fantastic. And great desserts and baked good options, to boot. Will come back.
Wonderful variety of gf baked goods. Amazingly friendly staff. You should definitely eat here.
Amazing! Great gluten free foods and jams. The owner was accommodating because her daughter was a celiac. She understood everything I asked for. Gluten free pancakes with great eggs. If you come here, get the marionberry jam. It is spectacular. Overall, great service and food!
The best GF burger buns I've had to date! Wish I could figure out their secret on that for what I make at home... amazing deserts, the waitress was very open about the dedicated fryer not exactly what we should rely on if I got sick from gluten so no fries for me, but everything else was amazing and we will definately be back. Burger craving accomplished, super good burger, and we took home 3 different GF desserts for later. Awesome experience!!
The pies, cheesecakes and cookies are phenomenal.
Great gf choices. It's so nice to eat out for breakfast.
Excellent gluten free desserts!
You can't go wrong with gluten free cheesecakes
No dedicated fryer so wasn't able to try fish and chips. My daughter loved their gf pancakes, while I tried their hazelnut crusted halibut. Had a blueberry muffin instead of a roll, which seemed a bit too desserty and would've preferred a roll or biscuit or something not toast. I'm too picky. I died for their gf cheesecake. Daughter had flourless cake which was more like a brick of fudge (hey not complaining). Overall it was fabulous and we would eat here again. Edited to add: I changed my 4 star to 2. It is apparent there was more cross contamination at least than we thought with my daughter's pancakes. She's having a hard time the next day. Disappointed and sad she's hurting.
Had a good burger with a wonderful GF bun! Then had amazing GF cheesecake! Appreciated all the GF options and waitress was very knowledgeable on GF menu options. I even ordered a salad and did not specify to leave the croutons off and she remembered on her own! Sadly, this is rare, so it was very much appreciated!
The hamburger I had was so good-the bun was bakery fresh and not extremely crumbly. I had fruit instead of fries. I thought the fruit could have been inspected better for quality, so that's why it's only 4 stars. The service was great! I bought a cranberry orange scone to go and it was fantastic!!!!
Our waitress is also celiac. She was awesome. I had blueberry pancakes, she had said they were good. The blueberry pancakes were GREAT!!!! This is a great place for those with celiac to come and eat. Lots of options and they also have gluten free desserts. Returned next day, had buttermilk pancakes!!! Also had a piece of gluten free sour cream lemon pie, it was delicious!
I felt "celiac safe" as I was told 2 of the owners daughters are celiac. Our waitress was celiac as well. I did love my gluten free lemon poppyseed muffins. They came out hot and didn't taste fake. The waitress noticed right away that my eggs were not cooked to my liking and remedied the situation without me asking. I asked about the celiac safety of their pies and was told that they bake them at separate times and clean between baking. She also said they use a separate convection oven for gluten free.
This place is not Celiac safe. Yes they will clean the grill if they are cooking for you, but it has been used for gluten at one point. I called before showing and they said it was Celiac safe until we got there and they only had GF cookies available. They may have GF options but we couldn't risk the cross contamination since my boyfriend gets really sick. Plus it's just a typical pie, basic brunch place by the looks of the menu. The waitress was very apologetic and sweet but we left. We drove a block down, just past Fred Meyer and happen to see a little grocery store called The Gluten Free Place. A God sent......
Love this place! Gf pie was amazing, they are also very child friendly!! My only complaint is that they don't say gluten free when they bring food to table.
WOW! I've never seen so many GF options in one establishment. Any sandwich on the menu can be made with GF bun/bread. They also had pancakes, and a wide variety of GF cakes, pies, cookies, and muffins. All reasonably priced and without a surcharge when substituted for regular bread. Everything we had was delicious. The restaurant has a couple of employees with gluten issues, so the staff was very knowledgeable. Great find.
A saving grace in a small town. We had searched around to find somewhere to eat since we can't eat gluten or dairy. After awhile it seemed hopeless as the place we were planning on going to was closed during the week in the off season. We enjoyed a burger on a delicious gf bun that was prob the best we have ever had. They have a lot of sandwich options and pancakes and burgers. The bakery inside is also really cute and has quite a few gf options that are really delicious.Overall a great experience and just wanted to make sure that everyone knows there is another gf place in Newport
