It was great! I only got the fudge brownie and clam chowder to go, but the staff made sure to get people who knew about celiac the right questions and I felt safe eating there. They have the gluten free stuff packaged separately and have it made first before any gluten containing ingredients. As a celiac, I felt confident in their abilities and had no reactions.
The Chalet had several gluten free options for breakfast. I didn't look at the lunch or dinner menu though. They additionally have baked items you can buy and take to go. They had gf scones amd cookies. I had the peanut butter butterscotch cookies and they were delicious. We will go back when in the area. The service was good but it was a Saturday morning and people were waiting for tables so we felt rushed when trying to visit with friends over breakfast.
Large menu with lots of GF options. Most items could be ordered. Menu has GF substitutions on it, though it can be a little confusing. GF is not entirely clearly marked. Server was very helpful in answering questions. Fryer has cross contamination so no fries for me. Ordered burger with GF bun and a cup of clam chowder (which was thick and delicious). They said all their soups were GF. Quick service and the best part is I didn't get sick.
Absolutely amazing place On our week trip to Oregon we ate here maybe 4 times. Tons of Gluten Free treats along with GF Clam Chowder. Their GF bread was almost as close to normal bread as you could get.
Fries are NOT in a separate friar, but everything else is top notch. 5 stars easy
Given all the 5 star ratings I had high expectations for this place. But, my waitstaff wasn’t clear on what gluten was and it is not clearly marked on the menu what items are gluten free. I asked to speak to the manager who also could not help me identify what breakfast items would be gluten free and resulted in a series of packages being brought out for me to read ingredients. The manager assured me they cleaned the grill for my eggs and hash brown breakfast but said they frequently do not and he has to watch them do it.
I had crab eggs Benedict with hashbrowns. I brought my own English muffin which they toasted. I could have chosen gf bread instead. I also had a cup of their gf clam chowder! So delicious! They're gf chocolate cream pie is amazing! I had a slice but you'll want to buy a whole pie. The day before I stopped in to check out their selection. I bought a slice of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I found it dry & kind of hard. The brownie was ok (too cakey for me) but the frosting was over kill. The butterscotch peanut cookies were a bit dry. I'll definitely be back to try more items. They have several gf cheese cakes, scones & cookies. You must try their clam chowder & chocolate cream pie!
This is by far the best GF restaurant I've ever been to. So many GF options!! The owners have a family member with celiac. They serve breaded cod and clam chowder that are GF. The prices are so reasonable. Everything I tried was so delicious! It made my vacation. I will definitely eat here the next time I am in the area. They bake their own GF muffins, cookies and cheesecakes. I felt so loved!
Really cute restaurant and they take their gluten free items very seriously. My son ordered the French toast and he had no reaction and really enjoyed his dish are very good about preventing cross-contamination so on the whole it was a great experience. They also have gluten free pancakes, cheese cake, pies and cookies and many other options.
Server was very knowledgeable and helpful! Owner's daughter has celiac so they actually train their staff. Huge portions! Had a GF omelet and hashbrowns, and my husband had GF pancakes and bacon, and we each got a GF double chocolate muffin as our side. Absolutely delicious and fluffy! They also have GF scones, cookies, and pies!
Wait staff is knowlwdable about GF options. GF breads and buns available. GF pancakes! GF desserts are marked in display case including full cheesecakes and cakes! The GF pancakes and french toast was really good! Sausage and bacon also GF! This is the 1st hot GF breakfast we have ever been able to have! All the food was really good!
The owners daughter has celiac and so they have an extensive separate menu guide. An absolutely amazing gf cheese cakes, pies, muffins all sorts of desserts in gluten-free. They cook them in a separate area and I even checked my usual test on the vanilla extract it is gluten-free. This is the best option I I have found on the Oregon coast so far outside of Maggies at Seaside.
We are here for breakfast at the end of our trip and I was absolutely delighted! The owners have celiac disease in their family and they have modified their processes to have a separate space for gluten free baking and food preparation. Most of the breakfast menu could be ordered GF. I couldn’t believe how many options were available. I didn’t have any reaction, so they are clearly doing a great job of limiting cross contamination. I’d probably eat here weekly if I lived in town. :)
We did a takeout order of mostly desserts: GF lemon pie, chocolate pie, fudgey frosted brownie, butterscotch PB cookie, and turtle cheesecake. All so good! (And several were wrapped and noted as GF, like the cookies and brownie).
Their website shows their full dessert menu and everything else that can also be done dessert GF (Marionberry and classic cheesecake, carrot cake, scones and muffins and a few other cookies).
Google reviews has pictures of their gf menu guide that shows how to modify their menu to make the breakfast, lunch, dinner items GF. They have gf pancakes, toast, sandwiches, burgers etc - but I ordered to go by phone so wasn’t able to confirm a picture of that guide. I did a grilled cheese (they use Udi’s gf bread) and confirmed they clean the grill etc for GF orders, and did not get glutened from any of the desserts or the grilled cheese!
Note: they do NOT have a gf fryer. I chose potato salad (was also offered fruit cottage cheese etc) as an alternative side.
Very good food! Really good omelette. They have gluten free pancakes. They had good flavor but were a bit tough. Polite service and many gluten free desert options. I didn't try any as I was too full from brunch. But they also had GF muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, toast...will be back!
The staff are very knowledgeable about cross-contamination prevention and were happy to put my inquiring mind at ease.
Great food, and very friendly and knowledgeable staff who are very familiar with the ins and outs of Celiac. The staff are always happy to make suggestions on what items on the menu can be safely subbed for GF items instead.
Great little place with so many GF choices. Ask for their GF menu and it will give you all the swaps you can do from the main menu and which items on the main menu are GF. I had an awsome crab omlett (without the cheese since I also can't eat diary) it was so good with lots of fresh crab and then I had the GF pancakes instead of the regular pancakes it would normally come with. The GF pancakes were wonderful! Soft, tasty and it was so fun to get to go out to breakfast for a change and actually order pancakes!!! They also have several take home items from the Bakery display that are GF and reasonably priced compared to the natural foods store!
Lots of GF selections, pancakes, toast & muffins. Lots of dessert selections that are GF.
