I have eaten there twice within the past 3 months and have gotten very sick. They no longer have a GF menu but offer gluten free buns and fries ( if the separate fryer is working). I don't think they understand the idea of cross contamination...I got a salad with the citrus vinaigrette and a regular burger with a GF bun and I had terrible pain about 2-3 hours after and was sick for days. Please be careful if you decide to eat there!!!
Very good! :). Gluten free burgers (sub veggie, turkey or chicken)
Love the gluten free buns!
This place used to be a lot better. They changed the menu and staff and it went through a rough patch with the gluten free but they’re starting to get their act together again. Be sure to double/triple check the meal isngluten free and the fries were in the dedicated fryer. They have two fryers, one for fries and other gluten free options and the other for non gf options. Sometimes one fryer breaks but they usually warn you of the situation.
UPDATE: THIS BUSINESS HAS CLOSED! The service was not good. Seemed like the table next to us had the same issue. Once your server left the table they were not to be seen again so you had to ask other servers. The manager brought my food out personally which made me feel safe because I get very nervous eating out. The food was safe for me that was the most important thing.
Cross contamination after making my needs very clear to the server. Had a fried onion string (obviously did not order) under my gluten free bun. Also they served my salad with croutons, so I had to send it back to get remade.
update 2018 Goodservice and food they have much better service than the past few years! They have a gf menu now, dedicated fryer, fries and burgers. buns, etc. very good gf bun was soft and delicious! Happy they have gotten better, manager brought out my meal and everyone was very friendly!
We have been coming to the Destin area approximately once per year for over 10 years. This used to be our go to restaurant, often visiting two, even three times per trip. We first noticed a decline about two years ago when they ran out of GF buns the entire length of our stay. Recently we decided to give them another chance but this time the fryer was broken and they refused to discount our ticket even though he only received basically half of the meal (burger sans fries). The GF menu seems to be shrinking, the service has becone really poor, and the food (including that for non-GF party members) seems to have declined. We'll be buying our burgers from LuLu's from now on.
Tons of GF items, clearly marked, and knowledgable staff. Checks all boxes for a safe place to eat. BUT, its ALSO amazing for food in general. Everyone was super thrilled with their food, and we had a good variety of items - all Gluten Free. Not sure who makes their buns, but they're also quite good with a burger. I'd be back!
Not sure what the deal is. Everyone else has left such great reviews! But every time I try, I'm clear in my dietary needs and order very clearly gluten free off the gluten free menu and still end up sick! It's not as sever as if I were to eat gluten but there has to be some sort of CC going on. I've ordered a variety of things and have even avoided fries and did a bun less burger once too. Still sick on the days following.
Food was really good. Seems celiac friendly. Service as atrocious. Management checked in on the table and asked how everything was, ignored our empty drink glasses etc after the slow server neglected it for about 15 minutes. Maybe order To Go from there
The food was excellent they Pride themselves in being cross-contamination safe. The server was wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better experience! This is definitely a safe place to eat if you love Burgers and Fries. They have a dedicated fryer for their fries. The burger was sweet and delicious and juicy I would give them a higher rating if I could!
Best GF burger I've had in a long time! Service was a little slow but very friendly and the manager brought out our food to us! They have a separate frier for the fries and made sure to reassure us that they try their best to avoid cross contamination (however they do have a disclaimer stating that it is still a possibility) Over all it was amazing though, and we will be coming back!
The burgers were just Ok with GF buns. This wasn't the best I've had but the staff was very knowledgeable, so that was a plus. The burger could have used a little more seasoning. The bun was very crumbly. The side salad was a little wilted. Also, there is an up charge for the GF bread and a side salad. I had to get the side salad because the fries (which were included) were not cooked in a dedicated fryer, therefore they were not an option. I gave it three stars because although it wasn't my favorite it was Ok and the staff is gluten aware.
After reading all the great reviews, I felt confident as a Celiac that this restaurant was a safe place to eat. Wrong. I ordered the All American burger and fries. I specifically asked the waiter if the fries were fried in a dedicated fryer and he said yes they are. About 20 minutes after eating, I was in severe stomach pain. I didn't really like the fries they had some seasoning on them aside from the tons of salt. I was sick the rest of the night. It could have been cross contamination. It was not a safe option for me.
Service was really lacking! we were seated immediately but it took 10 minutes for a waitress to come to our table and another 15 minutes for our drinks to come then another 20 minutes for food. The burger was mediocre and the gf bun was very dry!
I had high hopes for this place. The GF part is that I did not get sick. But the GF bun was burnt- they took to back and somewhat burnt the second bun. I was tired of waiting so I just pealed the burnt parts of the 2nd bun. It still had some what burnt taste. They really did not care much. I will not return, but it may be safe to eat there.
Young waitress was clueless about celiac-safe requirements. May be fine for the gluten-intolerant, but would be very careful with celiac. They did say they had a dedicated fryer, but I suspect there was cross-contamination somewhere along the line, as I felt ill afterwards. Food taste/quality was good "pub food," overall.
We eat here every time we come to MB. Great selection of burgers that can be served on warm gluten free bun. Fries are cooked in dedicated fryer. Most recently, I had a burger with avocado, salsa, cheese, and sour cream. It was amazing. They also have grilled chicken breast to exchange for beef patty if you prefer. Great family atmosphere. Will return!
This was, hands down, the best meal I had while visiting Myrtle Beach. I ordered the All American burger on a GF bun and fries. The manager brought my food out separately from the rest of the family's to prevent cross contamination. Everything was delicious and I didn't get sick!
They do have a disclaimer on the menu for celiacs however, they do take steps to avoid cross contamination, they have a dedicated fryer for the fries, and the manager brought my food out separately. I did not have any reaction after eating here.
they have a gluten free menu but it states on there that they are not a gluten certified kitchen so it's eating at your own risk. I got a gluten free veggie burger and they stuck bacon on there! I didn't know if it was a joke or something. also they have no idea what gluten free alcohol they have. I asked them if they had the gluten free vodkas I knew of but the waitress disappeared, forgot she was supposed to ask, then asked a Manger, then came back with an answer but by that time we were done with the meal. not impressed.
