This place was one of the best gluten free places I’ve been to. I felt very safe because the host and waiter were extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. The deep dish gluten free pizza was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The calamari was top notch too. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in Chicago.
Very helpful and knowledgeable. The first question when we were seated: is anyone gluten free? I have celiac disease, another member of the party is allergic to corn. They were able to tell each of us what we could and could not have. I had an excellent salad that was served with warm gluten free bread. Amazing! I hope to return for pizza another time!
Great experience! The hostess asked us if any in our party would be gluten free, which was nice. Our server immediately brought me yummy gluten free bread. I asked our server about their kitchen practices and everything checked out with dedicated kitchen area, equipment, etc. I ordered gluten free cheese stuffed pizza and it was the bomb!
The staff was very knowledgeable and so many GF options available! I love pizza but had never had deep dish before and so I was super excited to try it but also nervous that it wouldn’t be that great. But it was wonderful and my non-GF husband loved it too! We had a small pizza and the two of us were so full at the end of the meal!
Called ahead to order and explained I was celiac. Was nervous because I was ordering over the phone but everything was fine. I guess they use different boxes for GF pizzas and a different shelf in the oven. The garlic bread was not worth it but the deep dish pizza was amazing!! Seriously can’t wait to go back.
Absolute best place for GF pizza, calzones, etc. Hands down. I moved out of delivery range for this place and I am always so sad about it. I'll get a large spinach deep dish and individually wrap each piece and freeze them for work lunches or pizza cravings. It holds up very well this way, especially if you reheat in a toaster oven. Mmmmmm
Absolutely delicious meal, and SO MANY gluten free options! Staff clearly knows about cross contamination, and they also clearly do GF often (I heard our waiter ask each table if anyone needed gluten free). I haven’t had so much bread in one sitting since diagnosis 7 years ago; it was amazing and everything was beyond delicious. Even have several dessert options. Photos uploaded; I had the GF focaccia, garlic cheese bread, deep dish pizza, and chocolate mousse cake.
Chicago’s Pizza was worth the four mile trip from our hotel. Small restaurant but not crowded on a Monday night. We went just so I could have the GF deep dish pizza that we couldn’t find anywhere else. I won’t say the crust was as yummy as regular crust but it was crisp and good. And given the deep dish, you couldn’t taste it was much as a regular pizza. The toppings were terrific. The service was very attentive and friendly. Very knowledgeable staff who know about gluten issues. They brought me GF focaccia bread without asking. The wine was good and really inexpensive compared to other Chicago restaurants. The rest of my family enjoyed their food as well - tortellini, ravioli, and calzone. Really glad we went!
Tastes so good you would never know it was GF. We got the deep dish gluten free pizza and the cheesy garlic bread. The garlic bread was good but didn’t really taste like garlic bread does but the pizza itself was incredible. They have separate areas when preparing GF foods and even have specific GF pizza boxes so they don’t get confused with normal pizza. So glad we ate here!
As soon as we were seated the host asked if anyone was GF, and when I indicated that I was, he said well bring you some GF bread. They made sure that my GF concerns were addressed and based on their level of attentiveness, I was comfortable. I had a GF deep dish pizza and it was awesome! I’ll be making my way back to Chicago’s Pizza! Great service and great GF food!!!!
Staff very friendly. GF focaccia was great! Had a yummy Greek salad and then a Chicago style deep dish vegetarian GF pizza. What a nice treat!! A little light on the veggies though, but my nonGF dining buddies said the crust was almost like their authentic deep dish.
Can’t confirm if there’s no cross-contamination with their options. But where else can you get a deep dish/ stuffed crust gluten free pizza in Chicago?! They also have tons of pasta and sandwich options, however they use the same mix for their buns as their pizza crust. In my honest opinion it doesn’t translate well as a bun, but I’m not complaining. I
I have been a lifelong lover of deep dish and stuffed pizza, but lived in nyc the whole of my time with celiacs. I just moved back to Chicago, and found this GEM of a place. It doesn’t taste gf, it holds up for leftovers for a few days (not that it lasts that long in my house!) and is most importantly an incredibly delicious pizza. 15/10 will eat forever until I die amen
Dining with a Celiac and not only was the food delicious and gluten free but no reaction by the Celiac at all. Definitely a must do when in Chicago especially if you are dining with someone who is gluten intolerant or Celiac. Staff was knowledge and made sure to handle our meal with kid gloves. Thanks for a great meal!
Absolutely amazing! They ask you who is gluten free when they seat you. they have fresh bread they put in for you right away and bring pizza out separately even labeling the boxes for take out. The pizza was AMAZING! I just spent $70 on shipping sending 2 to me in Florida!
Awesome, safe pizza. They make their dough in house on completely separate equipment (which already tells you that they are prepared and spending money on being gluten free). The pizza is cooked in the same oven, but on the upper levels with dedicated shelves. The waiter was very knowledgeable and well prepared. The deep dish Chicago Special (sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers) was absolutely delicious, and the crust is absolutely phenomenal. Absolutely come here if you get the chance! We drove 30 minutes to come here and it was worth it.
Chicago pizza was amazing! They came to the table and right away asked if anyone was gluten free and then brought out delicious bread to the table. We ordered a Gluten free dish deep that was absolutely amazing!! I felt very safe eating here with celiac disease.
Lunch at Chicago’s pizza rates as one of the best dining experiences I’ve had since diagnosed with celiac disease 14 years ago. The GF menu was extensive, the service was fabulous and the pizza...deep dish stuffed...was delicious. You can also have a custom gf pizza shipped!
This is a must have stop for Chicago. They have an extensive menu, and they can make gf on everything it seems. Vesuvio potatoes appetizer was wonderful. Very attentive and aware of gf. Deep dish pizza was wonderful with a buttery crust. They are obviously cooking all dishes and all can be adjusted.
We went to this restaurant based on the reviews I read and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Right after sitting down the hostess asked if anyone was GF...I was shocked that is unheard of! She brought GF bread out for me...wow! The deep dish pizza was seriously delicious along with the creamy garlic dressing I had on my salad. I also recommend the chocolate cake for desert..a slice of heaven!! I had to get it to go because I was stuffed, but so worth it. Wish we had a place like this in Cleveland!
I'm going to be honest. I didn't care for the pizza. I can't say that I've had any other Chicago style pizza, though, so I don't know if it was the place or if it was me. However, I'm gluten free, and they did an EXCELLENT job accommodating me. A bit torn in how to rate them. 3 stars for food (personal opinion, other opinions may vary) but 5 stars for service / gluten free accommodations.
We wanted to try authentic Chicago-style pizza, and when we saw they had gluten-free stuffed deep dish available we couldn't pass up the opportunity (I have an allergy to wheat and my daughter is celiac). They did not disappoint. It was fabulous! The servers were very friendly and helpful. It was a great experience!
So many main course gluten free options that I can't believe it! I order something different every time. Pizza crust is made fresh, not boxed or frozen and it is wonderful. I highly recommend the gourmet pastas too!!
Right away asked if there was an allergy and notified the kitchen. The deep dish gf pizza was superb. I had the calamari and gf cheese bread as an appetizer. Again excellent food and service. No reaction at all.
3 of us split a supreme stuffed deep dish pizza and a calzone with spinach and garlic. Delicious, cheesy, and filling. Great crust on both. Ate just over half the pizza and 3/4 of the calzone, took the rest with us. Total $50+tip. Definitely will come back when in the area. I'll include some pictures.
Amazing!!! I had my husband try a piece of the gluten free garlic bread and he told me that it did not taste that different from the regular bread. Honestly the most 'springy' bread and crust I've had in years!!!
Gluten free menu, is very large. Disclaimer is on menu about cross contamination. Its always a risk to eat out. The house gf bread is some of the best bread I have ever had gluten free. Ordered deep dish pizza is only $1.50 more not bad. They have pasta, calzones, apps, sandwiches, and more. Thin crust, deep dish, and stuffed deep dish in gluten free. Pizza yummy.
I went there for the first time with my boyfriend and I and it was great. I'm gluten free and when I heard they had gluten free deep dish in Chicago, I knew I had to check it out! We sat down and when our waitress presented our menus, she asked if either of us was gluten free and she pointed out the menu and there was almost too much to pick from! I went with the gluten free deep dish and it was great! We will definitely be back :)
I'm just sitting here remembering how much I love the gf pizza dough they make. Anytime we're in town I have to get pizza here and my non-gf friends and husband enjoy it as well. I haven't been able to enjoy such an authentic stuffed crust pizza anywhere but here in the last 10 years!
Awesome GF stuffed pizza!!! Staff is very friendly as well. They make their gluten free crust in house from scratch so you can get any size pizza!! They also have gluten free pasta and gluten free focaccia bread that can be used for sandwiches or burgers. If you are gluten free you need to come here!!!
Outstanding pizza! Visited the restaurant twice on this trip, the first time had a panini and the second time the stuffed pizza. Excellent food and excellent selection of GF food and desserts. They do a great job with the homemade crust and cook it just right. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Oh, the cheesecake is awesome and a must!
Love, love the GF chicken Alfredo. It's my go to take out meal. They serve with a side house salad and GF bread. Great deal for the price. I did try the GF deep dish and was highly disappointed. I would not recommend the deep dish but the thin crust is fine.
this place is so great. Pizza, sandwiches, pasta, salads are gluten free. Lately I have started noticing that they even ask right when you start ordering if you are gluten free. I ordered here probably once a week for the last 2 or 3 years and I've only had an issue once in terms of gluten sickeness. the variety of options and the overall price is well worth it. There gluten free pizza especially is phenomenal. I feed it to my non gluten-free friends and they can't tell the difference
I cannot begin to describe how good the food is here! Everything from the GF calzones to thin crust to deep dish is simply perfect. They take great care to not cross contaminate and I've always felt safe ordering from here. The calzones are my favorite.
GF deep dish was amazing! I never thought I would ever get to try one! And in Chicago! It is a home made crust that they developed themselves. It was so good that I took my leftovers - which I never do on vacation. My husband, who can eat anything, ordered GF Fettuccini Chicken Alfredo. It was also fantastic! I would go out of my way to stop here again!
I eat here all the time! Their pizza, both stuffed and thin crust, are delicious. You can hardly tell it's gluten-free! They also have other GF options such as sandwiches, pasta, etc. The staff is very knowledgeable. They even say on the menu that they prepare GF food in a dedicated area!
