Beware! Unlike every other Chick Fil A I have visited, the staff at this location in Laplace is not trained and is clueless about GF. After telling the cashier I have Celiac, I ordered a Grilled Chicken sandwich on GF bun with waffle fries. I was served a sandwich on a multigrain bun, and no fries. When I took it back to the counter there was confusion, but they said they’d fix it. After a long delay I went back up to the counter to check on my meal, and it was clear they had forgotten all about me. After more confusion and consultation between the cashier, the manager and the kitchen, it turned out they had no gluten-free buns. I can understand if they just ran out of GF buns, but it seemed to me that they didn’t even keep them in stock, despite having it on the menu. Obviously, the cashier was not trained, which was not his fault. He was very pleasant and tried his best to help me. The problem was management. I was really annoyed at being left waiting in the dining room. I wonder if they ever would have come out to tell me the problem. My companion was almost finished with his salad by the time I came back with a salad, which was very good and fresh. This was a very disappointing customer service experience. The restaurant was not super busy and there were plenty of employees, just not well-trained in customer service or gluten-free protocol. This was the first bad experience I’ve had at a Chick Fil A which has been my go-to fast food place where I have always felt safe eating.
