They always change their gloves happily for me. The burrito bowls are great and you can have everything! Celiac safe and a great option on the road because they're everywhere.
Fast service. BIG burritos. Cross contamination. little pricey. No military discount.
Chipotle does not have a gluten free menu but instead has a list of gluten-containing ingredients to avoid. Cross-contamination is a concern, however, so let the person taking your order know that you are gluten free and if you need them to take the proper precautions. From their website: "If you avoid gluten, don't eat our flour tortillas. If you are highly sensitive to gluten and would like us to change our gloves, just let us know at the start of your order. You should be aware items containing corn, including corn tortillas (chips, soft corn, and crispy corn tortillas) and corn salsa, may have a small amount of gluten from potentially co-mingling with gluten-containing grains in the field."
Please read this review. The guy or the girl takes off the gloves and his or her hands. Then washes his or her hands and then put new gloves on. Change the spoons and fresh toppings. Wipe down the surface. For the soft corn tacos they put tinfoil on it no cross-contamination for the soft taco warmer. This place is celiac friendly :)
Excellent place! I walked in and said I have Celiac Disease and the person who took my order immediately changed gloves and cleaned counter. Chipotle is my go-to when traveling. Never disappoint
My first time there after being diagnosed. I just told them first thing that I have celiac disease and immediately they changed their gloves and knew exactly which ingredients to pull from fresh containers. I was impressed!
We eat there often and my boys never get sick. They change their gloves and seem aware of what they need to do when serving those with celiac.
the nicest people ever changed their gloves for me, changed the scoops to clean ones, and cleaned off the counter. in case I got glutened from the tortillas other people get. I have never gotten sick and most of their ingredients are gluten free. I love Chipotle!
Came in for lunch and had a burrito bowl. The manager held the line to remove and replace all utensils being used as well as have the employee making my meal wash her hands and replace her gloves! He also carefully watched to make sure she didn't automatically grab the lettuce from the same tub. She got out a separate tub of cheese and lettuce. Great job of avoiding cross contamination!!!
chipotle definitely has gluten free items. I ordered a burrito bowl with white rice, black beans, steak, lettuce, corn & cheese. Definitely stay away from their tortilla chips, torillas or beer to avoid problems. Also if you ask for them to replace their gloves for you they will :)
I'm celiac, and when I told the woman working behind the counter she changed her gloves and also took it upon herself to carefully get me a take-out bowl and lid from midway down the stacks to avoid cross-contact. Chips and queso are GF as well, not sure on processing cross contact with them but I did not get sick. So pleased I can still enjoy one of my favorite lunches!
Staff was awesome! Washed hands, changed gloves and spoons, got some items from separate bins. (Granted they were not that busy at that time, so that was good, but it was still very much appreciated!)
3 stars because they had gluten free options, but overall a disappointing experience. Staff didn’t automatically change gloves. Staff wasn’t familiar with menu - I had to let others go before me so I could google.
— Not at all
Don't do it. I ate lunch there last Sun and was sick all day and night into Monday. I told them I had a gluten allergy and ordered a Burrito Bowl with chicken. She changed her gloves, but then preceded to use the same bins and the same spoons to serve my ingredients. At the end, a different server with glutened gloves put the lid on my bowl. They clearly had no clue. I'm newly diagnosed with celiac and thought I'd be fine; I was very wrong. Never again.

Bathroom was really filthy
Whenever I eat here, I notify them of a gluten allergy and they will change gloves, change spoons, and use a different container of lettuce, cheese and guacamole if you ask. Yummy and have never had issues with getting sick
The employees and management at this location are AMAZING. They change their gloves, clean the entire line, get new spoons, get new containers of cheese and lettuce (so they don’t touch something someone else touched with gluten hands) and best of all are so nice about it all. they never make me feel bad for taking up more time or anything. i told the cashier thank you so much and she said “everyone deserves chipotle!!” This is one of the only places I feel safe eating at!
To minimize the chance of CC I got a bowl with just rice, beans and fajita veggies. The server washed his hands and changed his gloves before hand. Was tasty and no reaction. Been back a few times with success (Nima Smiles). The evening shift seems to be more aware & knowledgeable and willing to get Fran ingredients from the back. It is possible to eat here safely but it sometimes requires vigilance. They touch the flour tortillas all the time, so you have to request gluten free for an allergy. Then make sure they change their gloves and don’t touch anything with gluten. Avoid the lettuce and cheese, or ask for some from the back, because the stuff at the counter has been reached into. They generally do all this without requesting it, but it varies by day and employee. Non-busy times are always best. They have a tip jar, so I try to tip when they do it right without me having to remind them, but you can’t add a tip to the credit card tab, so it’s good to have a little cash for that.
I have eaten here several times with no issues. The staff are always willing to change gloves if you ask. I did get exposed once when I ordered delivery and did not tell them I had celiac - clearly not their fault. If anything, that proves that they take exposure seriously. Recommended.
If you state that you are gluten-free they will wash down all of the counters and they will replace their gloves to stay away from contamination. They will also ask you if you want lettuce or cheese, which they will get from a different container to avoid contamination.
I cannot eat here without getting cross contamination. Yes, they will change their gloves, but they are pulling food like shredded cheese out of the same bins that they previously stuck gloves that have touched flour tortillas in. The manager tried to pull new ingredients from the back for me which was very much appreciated, but there's some ingredients that they can't pull from the back. I got sick everytime I tried to eat there.
They will pull fresh food from the back of you tell them you have Celiac. A wonderful place to go. I’ve been there often and have never been glutened.

So wonderful! The burrito bowl is fantastic.
Not only washed hands, but changed out all the serving spoons. Cudo’s for that, but the portions were smaller than normal, bringing them down one star. Really skimped on the rice, which is cheap.
Told them my daughter was celiac. Whole line changed their gloves, changed utensils, wiped down the line and even used fresh ingredients. So impressed! Wish all Chipotle locations were so well trained in allergy protocols.
I went there yesterday and none of the employees even knew what gluten was when I tried to talk to them about it. The girl making my food wouldn't even listen to me and didn't change her gloves and there was cross-contamination all over the place. I will not go back! Edit: I was contacted by the new manager who apologized for my experience and stated they will continue to do education for their employees and make sure that it is totally understood all the steps that need to be taken to prevent cross-contamination. The manager stated that they take this very seriously.
I was super surprised on how they took it seriously. I said to the girl working I have Celiacs and she immediately changed gloves washed her hands and didn’t let anyone else touch my order, I also ordered food for my non celiac husband and they bagged mine separately. 10/10 would go back
